Metal Gamin Replacing a Mannequin?

Has anyone tried using a Metal Gamin instead of taking a Performer and Mannequin in a Colette crew?

I kind of feel that this will add more protection when attached Colette and it's cheaper than a Performer and Mannequin. (If you couldn't tell, I put very little stock into Performers.)

Thoughts?

I feel like they dont have the synergy or the option to swap places with her for blinding flash and her 1 ap swap. plus if Colette does have to swap she will be that much further away from the metal gamin thats protecting her. I think I would still roll with preformer manequin combo.

Yeah, I think for anyone else the metal gamin would be a better choice, but the synergy Colette has with the mannequin is just to good to pass up, especially since the metal gamin is supposed to stick close to her.

You often don't take a mannequin for what it does. You take it for what it provides (companion + blinding flash target).

Maybe in place of another model in the list, or in place of a second Performer Mannequin pair, it could work.

Certainly would have come in handy instead of one or both of my Oiran last game. Mighta had one protect Cassandra and the other protect Colette. As it was, Sonnia lit up three showgirls, while Samael finished 'em off, all before they could serve any purpose besides bullet sponge.

I only value performers when I play ressers. That is generally because most ressers have low wp so potentially quite a bit of ap can be wasted by their irresistable check on them. They are good at grabbing vp the way I normally play colette but oiran could do just the same, however oiran don't bring companion showgirl like a manne does so in a list where I would play the big three of big girl showgirls lists I need the mannequin more. For lists where I only bring 2 of I like the oiran and the third dove.
