So I have decided to start gathering my Collette crew together and was hoping to look into some input on what I should pick up first.

Reading her abilities in the book, I can tell she must be a super agile/mobile Master but lacks in real damage output.

Any ideas on a competitive ensemble for Lady Du Bois?

For 30ss I would take collette: +1 soulstone

Coryphree duet 14ss

cassandra 9ss

performer and mannequin 6ss

For 35ss I would take Colette: +1 soulstone

coryphree duet 14ss

cassandra 9ss

performer and mannequin 6ss

Johann 5ss (also can be substituted for mechanical doves instead)

The core box set is really competitive to begin with I would definitely pick up the duet and a pack of doves for sure, as you can summon them in the game. Johann is also a nice addition as he comes dirt cheap to Colette.

Since I know you are a fan of FUN ebm, I will recommend my bouncer tactic:

Hire Killjoy. Create dove. Fly dove into enemy. Yell "You! Hey you! NO TOUCHIN THA DOVES". Place Killjoy on sacrificed dove. Jazz hands. "Showgirl Magic!"

Vile to the core.

I would do it with a swarm of pigeons, though. To ensure one explodes into Killjoy.

I considered doing that, but I ordered these cool lily flower bases cobblestone bases for my Colette crew. The 50mm inserts do not match the 30mm inserts. ^^;

I could experiment with it though. :)

Though it might be tricky, since I plan to use Wyrd translucent bases for the models...

Ah I planned mine out so its a wooden stage piece for the models that fits over the mechanical piece. Its still possible to do something like mine, have a flat magnet in the hollow underside then paint a larger cube magnet as a stage prop and base the coryphee on that.

Im probably just cheap though lol

The cube for reference. Also my bouncer killjoy is a dapper gorilla because hilarity.

I got two packs in the traded bundle of Colette goodness I got, back when she was impossible to find in England. Magnetising them anyway, because I might need that many one day! Maybe.

Haha. I wont magnetize the doll ladies. Mostly because spending the extra cash and time to work out the whole magnet thingie would in the end cost me the same as it would to just get a second duet.

At the moment, what I have planned:

Colette

aColette (all three)

Mechanical Dove (3)

Performer (2)

Mannequin (2)

Cassandra

Coryphée (2)

Coryphée Duet

Solid grounds to build on? :)

Yup, the base colette crew with a coryphee duet is very strong. Doves are a nice summonable totem.

I personally am not sold on aColette, I prefer the base line one much more, but if you have the 2SS to spare, you do whatever you like!

Oirans look pretty nifty. I might pick them up at a later date.

I cannot judge how effective aColette is, but the models look damn spiffy. I'd love to play with those on a table. :3

Also gimme that link to keep statistics. I'd tinker around with that! lol

I tend to play most of my games at 35 Stones. I take Colette, Cassandra, 2 Coryphee, Performer & Mannequin and a Dove. I've never needed anything else.

The aColette models are great but sadly the rules are not. Maybe something fun to try out in a friendly game but definitely not recommended for competitive play.

As for Damage output, trust me that looks can be very deceiving. Colette, Cassandra and the Duet all pack a surprising punch if played right. Colette also has the best option in the game to get rid of a big nasty that you can't otherwise deal with, through Disappearing Act, bypassing wounds and HTW, HTK etc. (admittedly the Trigger will only work around half the time but even if it doesn't, you're taking the model out of the game for the turn). The Doves can also contribute to damage output with Magician's Duel (via Magical Extension). Although they are often much more situational, don't underestimate what the Performers bring to the party also (having a Paralysed enemy model nearby is their greatest joy).

I've not used the Oiran yet but I have a couple of ideas to try out with them. I think a lot depends on the size of the game you're playing.
