hackdZ
Hey guys, I've recently gotten into Malifaux and got myself the Dark Debts box set, and a pair of Beckoners. I've had a lot of fun with the Crew, and I'm really enjoying the "Brilliance" mechanic, but I would like to expand the Crew and could use some critique on the lists. List 1: Jacob Lynch: - Hungering Darkness Mr. Tannen (6ss) Beckoner (5ss) The Depleted (4ss) The Depleted (4ss) The Illuminated (6ss) The Illuminated (6ss) List 2: Jacob Lynch: - Hungering Darkness Mr. Graves (7ss) Mr. Tannen (6ss) Beckoner (5ss) Beckoner (5ss) The Depleted (4ss) The Depleted (4ss) I'm essentially looking to purchase all the other pieces of the Dark Debts crew. Is this a good place to start? Do the lists look like they could function semi-competitively? Thanks.
kanhead
I haven't found any one model to be hugely stronger than an other. Everything in those lists will work well depending on the schemes/strategies. I say buy them all (and a blister of stitched together as well). Mister Shine
I tend to run Depleted in blocks of 3 or not at all. One can get focused on and die, but 3 can be a very annoying tarpit for your opponent. Also 2 beckoners before anything else. Sevorin
Im not a fan of Mr. Graves, but love the rest. Some will say they are not fans of the illuminated, but I like em. Its all taste imo.

Fetid Strumpet
I don't particularly like running any of the dark debts models with Jacob, other than Beckoners, and while I think you can certainly work just fine with one, I like hem so much I have a hard time not using both. This is a basic NB Jacob list I find works well generically. Kalkris
I'll write something along the lines of what I wrote on another Lynch thread. I hope it helps you out. the things that matter here are: Which faction are you running Lynch with? Are you taking the Hungering Darkness? to answer 1, you have 2 choices. I like taking Lynch as a NB master in brawls, and 10T in scraps, for the sake of having a bunch of options. 10T actually seems to give Lynch's particular playstyle a bit more of a boost than NB, since the whole Brilliance thing is new to NB entirely. In Brawls, you have the option of taking a second master, so you can make use of what they've got while keeping Lynch's standard options with you. to answer 2, one must think about the other hand of query 1: scheme options. the NB scheme are much more easily attained than the 10T schemes, in my humble opinion. But what ABOUT question 2? Well, this is not about model v model or scheme v scheme, but model v scheme. HD is AMAZING. you will want to take him most of the time. However, Lynch's second scheme, Read 'Em And (Weep), which cannot be taken if you start with the Darkness out, is easy enough to pull off due to Lynch's card control. And after all, you need VP to win. That said, you could go 10T, take HD, and use the general schemes to whatever avail you want, so it really does depend on your playstyle there. I suggest, if you want to branch out for Scraps, to buy Misaki's box set and use a Torakage or 2. They are quite nice. I also suggest getting Mei Feng's box for Kang in lieu of Graves; although Kang costs 1 more, it is quite possibly more worth it IMO. Happy Gambling! haha ~Lil Kalki
Malicte
Agreeing with some of the other posters above me, I'm not a huge fan of any of Lynch's models past the Beckoners, which I love. Here are the models I grabbed first to expand my Dark Debts crew, and I would recommend the same to you: Neverborn or TT: Stitched Together: Stitched aren't very fast. But, if you're willing to work around that, they provide mobile cover, take a lot of work to put down, provide hand cycling, and can pump out a LOT of damage with Gamble Your Life. A solid choice. Convict Gunslinger: One of the best ranged threats in the game for its cost, even including the +1 SS to hire it as a merc. Lynch's crew has no solid ranged threat besides Lynch himself, and his range is a pretty short 8. The Gunslinger can putout a lot of hurt very quickly. Desperate Mercenaries: Cheap, a decent ranged threat, and when used with The Light Inside can be reactivated for a turn of crazy shooting. Worth their low cost. Neverborn: The Twins: Lelu and Lilitu are together probably the best 14 point model in Malifaux. I say together because they can't function apart. Lelu provides you a brutal melee beatstick and Lilitu is a solid control piece. Terror Tots: Great objective grabbers with Sprint, can put out a surprising amount of hurt with the Flay trigger, and cheap. Silurid: Same as above, great objective grabbers due to the way they can jump up the table. Ten Thunders: Misaki's Box: Torakage are incredible for movement based games and can provide cover for advancing up the board against a ranged-heavy team. That all said, I encourage not locking yourself into one crew for all strategies. Be ready to adapt what you bring to what strategy you play. If you have a strategy that involves killing, bring Stitched or Twins or Convict Gunslinger to provide some more damage. If movement is involved, Tots or Silurids or Torakage or even Wastrels work fine.
