Mach_5 Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Got a big weekend of Malifaux coming up next weekend (Gottacon in Victoria, BC), so I'm taking the opportunity to paint up as much as possible! I just finished up McMourning today (except the base) and splashed a bit of red on Izamu. Quote
JMGraham Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Looking good! You'll be taking Doug to Gottacon, then? Glad you've finally seen the light and started playing with the best Resser master there is. Quote
Mach_5 Posted January 28, 2013 Author Report Posted January 28, 2013 I'll be playing in 3-4 events over the weekend, and they're all "fixed faction", so I'm keeping my options open! I've now got Nicodem, Seamus, and McMourning all painted. Have no fear that I have forsaken Nicodem as the best Resser master! Quote
jasonfly Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Nice work so far! The blood effect seems a little flat, maybe mixing some red ink into it will make it glossier. How did you apply it to the mini? Splatter from the brush? Looking forward to seeing more! Quote
Evilbleachman Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Rubber ducky yellow gloves! I love it! I now have this image of Dougie on his hands and knees cleaning the tiled floor with a tooth brush. xD Quote
Mehter Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Have no fear that I have forsaken Nicodem as the best Resser master! Shenanigans! But if it's for anyone, Doug is the correct choice. Quote
Mach_5 Posted January 29, 2013 Author Report Posted January 29, 2013 Thanks guys! @jasonfly: I agree on the blood, and did end up going back to work on it. Originally it was a single red color splattered with a brush, and I went back to add in a couple of darker shades of red (painted on) to give it more depth and finished it off with a paint-on gloss varnish to shiny it up. Looks good, I'll post another picture once the base is done! @Evilbleachman: His last pair of gloves were worn down to nothing, he's just putting on a new pair before continuing his wonderous experiments! Cleanup is for Sebastian. Quote
Viruk Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Looking really nice though I'd suggest shading the blood splatters a little with dark brown/black ink as it will add a nice touch of realism and help blend the blood in better. Quote
