Da Git Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Ok, I was thinking how to make some good use of Yin... then, playing against Kirai it hit me!! She is the only one I can think of that can hire both Yin & the Insidious Madness. What's better than an Anathema floating head? An anathema floating head that is a spirit that has been swirled into a mass of enemies with - to WP duals!! Fill crew to taste. Am I on to a winner here??? Quote
Mehter Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I can see it. Maybe run Jaakuna and Night Terrors to round out the WP nonsense. Then make Spirits as needed, like Onryos. Quote
i_was_like_you Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 And just think, you can also pair up Kirai and the Dreamer in a Brawl for even more disgusting uses of that combo. Quote
DeleteAccount Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I'm pretty sure wp duels are not terror tests, so they wouldn't get a - flip n it. Quote
Soundwave Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Terrifying causes Morale duels, and all Morale duels are WP duels. Quote
Mehter Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 I tried it tonight against a friend, it works pretty well. I like it with Jaakuna a lot. Night Terrors are probably overkill, though. Still good for walk in the Spirit World and all that. Quote
LupusFerreus Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Should be very good for the new strategies which require longer protection of objectives. Quote
edonil Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Huh. Neat idea, that! Definitely ups Yin's usefulness, that's for sure. Quote
Mehter Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 For specifics, I was able to just keep the Madness near Mei Feng, and paralyze her with Jaakuna for two turns in a row, killing her with Shikome swarms and Ikiryo. Paralyzed Kang a few times as well, which was fun. Quote

What does Jaakuna bring to the mix? she synergizers great with the madness but anything from Yin? Should be very good for the new strategies which require longer protection of objectives. Oooh... new strategies! Where can one find these? Quote
LupusFerreus Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 The New Gaining Grounds Pack isn't out yet but they basically give cumulative VP instead of end game VP. So if you want to hold things then Yin can provide that security. Quote
Mehter Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Jaakuna can go on a Paralyze rampage once models start getting close to each other, especially if the Madness is close. Yin did well, mostly from the terrifying. She caused Mei Feng to fall back, then the turn after she rallied I paralyzed her with Jaakuna. Yin hits decently, and was hard to target. I killed Mei Feng/Kang by doubling up on the Madness' and Kirai's to WP, DF and whatnot. It works pretty well. Meanwhile I had Night Terrors and Onryos flying around doing the Strategy. Quote
Da Git Posted January 25, 2013 Author Report Posted January 25, 2013 Sounds terrifying. I see what you did there!! Another trick I thought of is that if you send Yin into the same combat as a Shikome (or 2!) & said model legs it you get extra wicked strikes!! Really gotta try this list out!! What I'm thinking of is something along the lines of: Ressurectionists Crew - 35ss - Scrap Kirai Ankoku 5 SS Pool Lost Love 2ss SF (Horror) - Yin, the Penangalan 8ss Onryo 5ss Insidious Madness 4ss Insidious Madness 4ss Seishin 2ss Seishin 2ss Seishin 2ss Seishin 2ss Seishin 2ss Lots of Wp tricks, first turn plan is to summon 2 Shikome & spiritify Yin. Next chance I get, this is the plan! Anything I missed? Quote
Mehter Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 I still say try Jaakuna, whether by summoning or buying her. Quote
Da Git Posted January 27, 2013 Author Report Posted January 27, 2013 Yey!! Finally had a game to try this!! Was a Vassel match vs Nix's Neverborn. Interesting start he flipped BJ for strat so I chose "A line in the Sand" for him (one of the hardest strats imo) and I got deliver a message. The list I chose was: Kirai - 5 SS Cache Lost Love - 2 5x Seishin - 10 Yin - 8 2x Insidious Madnesses - 8 Nix had: Zoraida - 7 SS Cache Avatar - 2 Nikima - 13 3x Terror Tots - 9 2x Desperate Merc's - 4 So basically standard grow list but with mass Obey potential. Schemes: Me: Breakthrough, stake a claim Him: Steal Relic & Grudge (yin) Basically I had a really good hand & a bit of luck so could spiritify Yin & then healed her back 3. He managed to summon a vooduu on Yin so drained her of some wounds that way. I also got a Shikome right next to Zoraida after a charge on the Vooduu doll (unfortunately not killing the thing ). After grows he had 2 youngs & a mature. He made a habit of flipping the Red Joker for initiative, attacking the shikome with the mature but not killing it thankfully! I then delivered the message for 4vp! from then on it was a bit of a slug fest, I had a good chance of pulling a mass terror bom turn 3 with Yin being in melee range with Zoraida, Nekima, Vooduu & the mature & a Insidious nearby. Unfortunately, he got intiative so I couldn't do the Insidious first & he made all his checks (this was the story of the game really, he passed almost all his checks & me all my Irristables on Nekima). Although the one he failed was a young trying to charge a Shikome & fled off the board with some help from Yin & an Insidious. I managed to seal it in turn 4 killing "Chilled of Death" Nikima with a Shikome & Gaki before into the spirit world far away next to Yin & my remaining Insidious in my stake a claim & breakthough & to prevent my clippers being stolen. I thought I had it sealed at this point but avatar Zoraida managed to Obey my Insidous to take off the last three wounds off Yin with "Danger to Yourself" bringing it to a 8-6 win for me (he had activated 3 dynamytes). In conclusion, I liked the list. Yin is probably not as strong as Izzi but he did burn a lot of cards from his deck & has good potential! Quote
