JSKrush Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 (edited) With the new year I really want to focus on getting a substantial number of my Malifaux crews all painted along with sharing any conversion projects or other tutorials as I go. I'm an Outcast player at the moment but have branched out into Rezzers and Ten Thunders based on the overlaps with what the masters can hire. And cause they're just all so cool Feedback, constructive criticisms and suggestions are more than welcome so feel free to reply. Hope you enjoy. ---------- Post added at 11:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:01 AM ---------- First completed for 2013, Seamus' crew (Cause why wouldn't you try Belle's with Leveticus every once in a while). I was really happy with how Seamus came out and the different dresses of the belles. Not sold on Sybelle so she might get a retreatment at some point. Edited January 20, 2013 by JSKrush Quote
Evilbleachman Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 Sybbie looks just dandy for what she actually is. Probably one of the most revolting models in Wyrd's line. <3 I am always a sucker for Seamus and his lady friends. Good job! Quote
poulpox Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 Yes i really like the contrast of clothes/skin with the Belles. You chose a dark tone for Sybelle which is could be why you feel she's not as nice? It all looks grand nonetheless! Quote
underdog6750 Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 I agree. sybelle looks great. she is darker than the rest of the belles but fluff wise there is nothing wrong with that? Plus she has a really nice skin tone. relatively light but revolting and rotting looking all the same which is a great look. what colours did you use for her flesh? Quote
Viruk Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 Love the colors you used on these, they look fantastic in all their rotten glory. Quote
Nickienogger Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 Seconding Viruk above, The color choice Seamus is amazing! Very refreshing to see him in grey scale and done so well Quote
JSKrush Posted January 22, 2013 Author Report Posted January 22, 2013 Thanks everyone! I think on Sybelle I'm just hung up on the fact that she doesn't 'pop' as much as the others with the colors between the stockings, flesh, and body like the other belles do. Appreciate the thoughts and she's good for now. Just might go back and try a deep red dominatrix red with more highlights on her instead at some point. The skin was the first step in painting and actually the easiest. 1) Black P3 Primer on the whole model 2) Vallejo Model Air Light Grey Green airbrushed over the model catching the upper surfaces. 3) Vallejo Model Air Pale Grey Blue airbrused lightly on the skin 4) Two coats of Secret Weapon Green Black wash (mixed with some matte medium and windex) to add some rotting tone to it. Then just go after the cloth and the details. Can't speak more highly right now with the Model Air paints and Secret Weapon washes! It's a great combo for working quickly and painting thin and smooth along with some P3 colors for blending. Quote
underdog6750 Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I wish i had the patience and the funds to learn how to air bruh Great models though. Just noticed on sybelle did you miss some of the flesh on the legs on either sides of the garter straps? Or was it intentional. Perhaps highlightling the skin to the same tone as her head might help her pop a bit more? Quote
Wings Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Looks great! Although its interesting to see Seamus painted up in grey-scale my favourites are definitely the Belles. The mixture of grey skin and bright clothes really makes them pop. I think Sybelle actually looks really good (if that description fits her?). Maybe highlight her thighs up further? Quote
Inquisitor Wall Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Very cool concept for the crew. You pulled it off well. Quote
