I'm trying to figure out how to paint a black silk dress for my lilitu. Any idea get this effect?

I would probably add some Gloss Medium to the standard paints you use to paint black cloth (several good recipies floating around). This will push the finish up a few levels toward Semi-gloss (most paints seem to favor eggshell or a "soft" satin) and should make the paints look creamy and wet (similar to silk). I would also favor starker highlights and a much more vibrant palete than normal.

i was thinking of trying FolkArt metallic gross paint pearl white but work like to know of some link that i can view receipts if u know any because my be getting the oiran set to add to showgirls boxset on order

Not sure about a recipe, but Vallejo sells a medium that gives a metallic effect that might work for you.

I always add a very fine edge highlight of silver, just to give it that extra shine less is more!

I know it's been awhile since I post about the black silk effect effects for my Lilitu I think i got it! had to thin out the wicker white with a little bit of white and dry brush to get high lights. I here are some pics of my Lilitu

Vallejo do a good satin varnish, may do what you need

Pretty awesome job. Silk has that special sheen to it. Maybe try to add a bit of the effect on the folds in the back end of her dress.
