Also, how exactly would you like to play? Marcus, with all his options, tend to have quite a few ways of going about things.

Also, so far you have quite the interest collection of models. Not too many people like to pair the Lawyer and the beast-master, but maybe there could be something.

Myranda can transform into a shikome, then cast Cross Examination with the same Ca and the built-in :crows. So first I'd add a shikome to my collection. However, you'd better invest in silurids and Kaeris to have a solid base...

Seconding geistwald's recommendation of Silurids and eventually Kaeris. Night Terrors are also a great buy. Gunsmiths can be a really good addition to the force, since they bring guns along and Marcus is usually dangerously melee-centric.

I also recommend sealing Myranda and the SLM in a time capsule for if/when Malifaux gets a big rule revision. Until then, you may just be sad when you use them. ;)

Marcus has a huge range of models to pick from.

Silurids and night terrors are good for objectives.

Shikome and Blessed of December are both good for killing models and moving quickly.

The Waldigiest is probably the most durable beast out there at the moment. Although Molemen do well against models that don't ignore armour.

Don't be afraid to select any of the models from the Arcanist range even if they aren't beasts. The Corephyee duet is very survivable and great at objectives. The Rail Golem is a hard model to kill and can put out a huge amount of damage.

While the coriphee duet is good at objectives, if it's taken in a marcus crew I think it's more of a combat piece. There's not a lot of objectives that Marcus, Silurids and/or Night terrors will struggle with. As a combat piece, it's still very good for Marcus.

But silurids and night terrors are additions that you should definitely make to the models you have.

The rail golem is a great beatstick for any crew, and doesn't depend on any particular construct supporting master.

Two beasts I'd recommend picking up the blessed of december, and when it comes out, ama no zako. Both are quite fast and are solid pieces in the 8SS range.

But honestly - aside from the core marcus models (night terrors, silurids, jackalope), Marcus works very independantly from his crew. Beasts are nice options to have, rather than something he depends on. Some of my recent games looked more like an M&SU list that happened to be supported by Marcus, a jackalope and some night terrors. I had Kang, Johan and 2 union miners, and it added a nice twist. Ukrocky won a bunch of tournaments having a base of Kaeris, student of conflict and a Gunsmith I believe. While many other masters have their strength built around synergy, Marcus just wants pieces that will be strong independent of him.

I always like having night terrors and/or molemen in my Marcus lists... both are significant at 3 stones and take way more effort to kill then they're worth (high damage Guild lists banging away on molemen is pretty hilarious) and are great targets for the Defend Me trigger. Molemen seem slow, but while tunneling they move right through terrain, so they're actually pretty effective at getting to a lot of objectives.

He had a Marcus list at the Masters last weekend also. I played him in Shared Turf War and he took: Marcus, Jackalope, Von Schill, Willie, Walgeist and 3 Night Terrors.

My willie is very independent.

I have been playing marcus quite a bit lately.

Marcus

Jackalope

Sabertooth Cerberus

Razorspine Serpent

Slate Ridge Mauler

i have found that simply taking the model that you would have myranda turn into works a lot better.

everyone suggests

Silurid: they require no specific suit to do anything. plus with the ability to leap in with a 0 action and then do up to 3 attacks with blood frenzy. and to top it off if you dont get that extra attack you can disengage with another 0 action.

Mailfaux Raptor: cheap only costing 2ss with crazy movement distance. but you will want this model to give models the beast characteristic till the end of game unless they discard a card. Giving marcus so much more power by being able to wild heart and stare down for both attacks instead of attacking once and then stare down and then attacking again.

Night Terrors: also cheap great against ranged fighting teams.

all 3 of these models i find work better when you take more than one.

if your looking for another heavy hitter the Rouge Necromancy. which i am going to try the next time i play. basically combined the Sabertooth and the Razorspine. cost a huge 10ss but i am sure will be worth it before he dies. and trust me he will die because when you have a model like that he will be a main target.

Marcus lacks range and area effects. keep that in mind.

you really have to base your crew off what strategy and schemes your playing. there is little to no reason to include night terrors in some marcus games... depending on what your trying to do. you just need to become familiar with all of marcus's tools in his toolbox, and then try to become competent in picking out the best ones for the right situation.
