harbinger Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 With the influx of asian themed minis; Ive been reminded of something been meaning to ask for awhile.. Any suggestions for techniques to simulate silk cloth and the shiny lacquered look? Shiny part easy enough but the shading and highlighting with it seems rather complicated to pull off right. Quote
Vin Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 depending on how much time you want to invest, you can short job it by painting as normal, going with a dullcote or any matt varnish, then hand varnishing the silk portions with a gloss brush on sealant. If you want to go extra crazy, or if you are able, you can go to coolminiornot and go to the tutorials there. I recall a few decent ones for silk and sheer clothing. a bit beyond my abilities though. Strictly tabletop in my abilities. Quote
