weirdpornmatt
Firstly let me say that there are some amazing painters (when I say some; I mean most) on this forum and I almost feel ashamed to post my own work here. I have been playing Warhammer Fantasy for as long as I can remember (some people may even recognize my handle) and I have delved into numerous other systems but nothing really ever stuck. However I hope (and believe) that Malifaux will be the exception to this as the game has very much grabbed me already. I have only played 2 short into games but I am well and truly hooked. Suffice to say I have broken out the paintbrushes and to keep my motivation high I have decided to do a PLOG. I initially ordered a Lilith crew however my dealings with a terrible eBay trader left me out of pocket postage-wise and no crew. Luckily I was at a Warhammer tournament here in the UK and managed to pick up the beginnings of Lilith crew and all the Neverborn stuff they had in stock. Anyways enough of my rambling, behold my WIP crew: Finished Lilith (Rim was still wet) 3 Tots (Minus Basing): 2 Young (Minus Basing): The crew so far: I am doing all the basing for my models in a batch and these have just been sanded (they will be finished the same as Lilith). Next onthe painting table is teddy. C+C is more than welcome. Edited May 10, 2013 by weirdpornmatt
Evilbleachman
Really awesome stuff. What all do you use to base them?
weirdpornmatt
@evilbleachman Thanks for the kind words. I have build all the bases from scratch: 1. I started with a normal base. 2. I then added rocks either small pieces of slate or cork. 3. I then cover the bases in wall filler to add height. 4. Sand as normal 5. I have a large collection of basing materials; I used a 'woodland' dark green scatter. 6. I added small amounts of autumnal flock (the orange) 7. Add army painter wasteland tufts 8. A guy on eBay produces the amazing flowers on the bases which come in tuft form.
Ladyluck
These look great, I really like Lilith's base!
Wings
Looking good! I am confused as to why you might be ashamed as that's some really nice painting. Lilith's base looks particularly awesome.

I shall promise to take some better pictures once all the basing is finished (and teddy of course).

weirdpornmatt
I am glad someone has found the link useful; they are little gems. Also seeing as your all being so nice I thought I would treat you to some more / better pictures. Teddy all finished: If anyone can get the obscure reference on the belly panel I will be impressed (no not the mask!). And a Group shot so far: so that's 30SS done so far, I have a choice of Candy, Coppelius, Insidious Madness or a Doppelganger to paint next. What would people like to see? xKoBiEx
That Teddy is awesome.
Chris Tomlin
Coming on very well bro. Easily some of your best work. The basing works a treat with the colour scheme. The only time they look any better is in your dead pile!
weirdpornmatt
Thanks for the comment on the teddy he was an awful lot of fun to paint. @Chris Cheers mate; I am sure they will be in my dead pile less frequently the more I play... Next up is my doppelganger: This is a very nice model to paint and I added a little more colour to the skin (I included elf flesh in the mix and a wash of thinned leviathan purple). Again please let me know what you think. Out of interest I am always playing around with the idea of doing some tutorials, is there anything I have done with this crew that anyone would like a step by step tutorial for? Lordgimpet
Fabo work there, I dont think you need to feel ashamed, but rather proud of your work. a consistant theme and colour palette can do alot more than being a master of painting technique. your work is proof of this. Guild Monkee
Really good stuff, especially like the creepy looking doppelganger and the tots.
weirdpornmatt
Its always nice to hear some positive comments on my models and I happy with how they have some out so far. Now seeing as you have all been good boys and girls how about some Candy? Edited May 10, 2013 by weirdpornmatt
Wings
Awww, Candy looks so cute and creepy surrounded by all those flowers. For some reason my favourite thing about her is the magenta/purple of her dress. It looks great. Is there any chance of more of a close up of your Doppelganger? She looks interestingly undead but with the angle of the shot and the amount of background I don't think I'm appreciating her enough. Evilbleachman
Damn. This thread is oozing talent. Really liking your newest addition. Almost makes me want to start up a Neverborn crew...
weirdpornmatt
I will grab the light tent this weekend and take some better pictures (Doppelgänger especially). I have had an awful lot of fun painting the Neverborn and I would recommend it however my collection does now outstrip my number of painted models! Sorry for the lack of updates but I have been busy building a board and some terrain; ill post some completed photos in here shortly. Watch this space. poulpox
I just saw this post, just wanted to say I really like your skin tones, I think it's the best colour I've seen for Nephilim, suits them very well. Nice job!
Nickienogger
Amazing to see the whole crew and with those stunning bases! Being a WHFB player you must be so relieved and happy to spend time on a smaller amount of models for the best results! Well done, and looking forward to seeing more! Shadowopal
I'd like to know how well the adhesive works on the heather? Do, you use any additional adhesive? How long doe it last?
