Fading Memory
I recently bought some models that have be sealed with dullcoat and I have no idea how to strip them. I currently have them soaking in Simple Green as I know that works on paaint, but will it work on the Dullcoat sealer. If not what will? decker_cky
I imagine simple green should work, but a key question for what else is what material are the minis?
Omenbringer
Simple Green will work though might take a little bit more time then usual. I would recommend dipping them in Pine Sol also as the two together removes paint a lot better. Note that this is two seperate baths rather than mixing both products together (never a good idea with cleaning products). I usually start with the pinesol for 15 minutes then wash/scrub it then soak it in the Simple Green for another 15 minutes and Wash/scrub it again. Serigala
If the minis are metal then you cannuse the most potent paintstripper you can find. Nitromors is the brand I use in the UK. If they are plastic then it will be more difficult.
harbinger
Ive taken sealer off with Pinesol before and took awhile... so Omenbringers advice should do trick for you
ICleadpeople
If its a good seal like Testors it will take a while. The best strip I've used are Simple Green and Purple Power. Use a denture brush to scrub. A toothbrush is too soft. Hope this helps
Pagan Wolfe
Buy some spare bases and into the acetone. 30 minutes later remove and brush. It will eat the plastic bases though. And the super glue. Turns green stuff grey. This is how I do all my stripping.
Boshea
Castrol Super clean takes it off after a few hours of soaking.
Omenbringer
Castrol Super clean takes it off after a few hours of soaking. This is a great product for removing paint from miniatures however isn't safe to dump down the drain.
mckeansa
After trying most of the products mentioned here, i stuck with Simple Green myself. Let em soak for a day or two and a few minutes with a toothbrush and water will take everything off without damaging the mini or the base. Most everything else mentioned here including PineSol will soften or destroy the bases after a while.
