Xir
Hi, I'm Xir and I've never played Malifaux before. I have bought nothing and am borrowing a rulebook from a friend. I thought I'd hit up this web forum before I bought anything so that I could get a feel for both the game and it's community.
Ryu
The game, and the community, are awesome if I do say so myself. I'm sure many of us would be willing to give you a demo in person or via Vassal! Help you get the basics of the game down.
Joel
I'd echo what Ryu said and add my own welcome Malifaux is fun and very engaging - and this forum is one place to start gathering some good ideas. I'd recommend looking at the pullmyfinger wiki when you start selecting your first crew, it'll help give you an overview. I'd also recommend twitter - it has an excellent malifaux community - and downloading some of the malifaux podcasts. The malifools and cheated fates radio have some excellent episodes for new players.
AllistorPreist
My name is Justin and I just got dragged in kicking and screaming. Played 40K, despite wanting to love the new edition, I just can't get the energy for big games. Still love WarmaHordes, but wanted an even skirmishier game than that. So a friend finally got me and another friend to try Malifaux, Shamus (me) v Perdita. It ended in a tie, and was a pile of fun. Now I got the book and the Kaeris box is rocketing to me as we speak. FoxMaverick42
Hey there from the beautiful Pacific Northwest! I have had my Malifaux rule book for a while but I just picked up the revised version, Rising Powers and Twisting Fates and I have two crews on the way. I am of course looking for a game in the Seattle area.
Gremlin guy
Hi I just started playing Malifaux with some friends near Washington, DC about 2 months ago. I started with Ophelia, then grabbed Zoraida. I'm hooked though so I also picked up pandora, som'er teeth, Marcus, Nicodem avatars for som'er, zoraida, and nicodem, and many other models to round out the crews. I've still got about half my models to paint, but I'm having a blast so far.

PerpetualDawn
Hi all, Tim here from Ipswich in the UK. Models and rulebook are on order hopefully arriving soon. In the meantime reading the free rules and concocting paint schemes. Although I haven't ordered lady J, I am wondering how she would look kill bill yellow leather style.. Really looking forward to playing some games.. This will be the other half's intro into the hobby and she didn't fancy GW games and almost chose warmahordes, but she liked the look of a rasputina model on cmon and so we decided to go for it.. vaughan
Hi, I tried to post in here yesterday doesn't look like it worked. Basically PIP told me about this game last year at a warhammer tournament in Geelong Reading the books and loving the fluff. I've just picked up some models now but can't make it to his tournament on April 7 unfortunately. Probably need to play a few games first anyway. I've picked up Neverborn, and thanks to Cheated fates, Malibros, Aethervox and Gamerslounge for getting me motivated to pick this game up. Cheers, Vaughan Melbourne
Thulis
Hi All, I'm Chris. I was introduced to Malifaux by some gamers at a game shop in Richmond, VA. It turns out there aren't that many active gamers, but I'm looking to get more people involved and active. I thoroughly enjoy painting the miniatures, and playing Malifaux. My current crews are the Vik's, Seamus, McMourning, Lilith and The Dreamer. Hopefully I can get some games going in Richmond and get more people involved in Malifaux! Gremlin guy
@Thulis. I live about an hour north of you, near Fredericksburg. If your up this way, let me know. I sometimes come to Richmond to kayak as well, so next time I'm down, I'll bring my minis and get two hobbies done in one day.
MadMonkey
Hallo all, I'm Ian from Utah. I am just starting to learn how to play Malifaux. I've been playing miniatures games for a few years now and am very excited to start playing this one. I'll be starting with Rasputina and Misaki(probably more factions in the future). I am hoping to become a henchman in the near future as well.
r4st4f4n
Hi, here's a new player, from Italy. We don't have Wyrd distribution here, but my friends and I fell in love with the game, and we decided to start anyhow. By now we have bought a fair amount of crews and played a few Encounters. I personally love the whole Arcanist Faction. We'll see what we can do to expand Wyrd market in our country as well. For now we'll keep spreading Malifaux and get more people involved
Jewomie
Welcome to the forums, and the game! Good luck building support for the game, it's always nice to see people spreading the word (spreading the wyrd, maybe?) Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have, there's a lot of good folks here on the forums and we're always happy to help.
Nimon
Yo all I'm new, not only to Malifaux, but to miniature games. I saw the books at my local game store and really liked the art, then I watched a demo and was impressed. I am in Colorado Springs, CO. I am also really looking forward to the RPG coming out, RPGs are my main gaming experience.

Brother G
Hi, my name is Raf and a friend pointed me to Malifaux. I have no idea where to start, any suggestions are very welcome. Currently I don't have a faction, but I purchased the 1.5 rules book. I guess it's the best way to start, but I saw like 4 other books. Is 1.5 the latest or do I need to get the others. Joel
Brother G book 1. has all the latest rules in, so your good there. The other books contain more fluff and the rules for more models - but then you get rule cards with the models themselves so... book 4 however, has some rules for the ten thunders (like their specific faction schemes for example) that aren't anywhere else, so its probably an advisable purchase if you are thinking of going for that faction, or one of those masters as your first crew. have a good look all the masters and ask any questions you like on the boards - then pick whichever one you feel drawn to most, as that's almost always the right place to start. some Malifaux podcasts offer great advice for beginners too, so its worth downloading them. ta, joel
Bacms
Joel has post good advice. As he said book one has the rules but not the stats for all the models. That's where others books may be helpful but only for browsing before you buy anything since then you get the stat cards with the models. The only thing I have to add is take a look at http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/.
M_Ruckuss
Look at pull my finger, as Bacms has said and browse the faction forums. What do you like the sound of: Shinobi/Ninjas infiltrating Malifaux on behalf of a Triad-like organisation known as the Ten Thunders Necromancers and spirit seers who aim to use the magic of Malifaux to create a new Undead order...go Resserectionists The 'good guy' cowboys who are working for The Guild who arent as good as they seem... The 'natives' of Malifaux, the twisted and spiteful demons, woes and nighmares known as the Neverborn The renegade rebel sorcerers known as the Arcanists- socialist workers meet Star Wars Rebel Alliance The mercenary faction known as the outcasts- 'the best of the rest', a diverse and popular faction. I would pick 3 or 4 crews you like the look of and find out if they are good to learn with. The latter is not essential, just advised. Then take the plunge and pick up a starter and get some games in!
