E.T.A. Hoffman
hi all so i just bought hoffman and i totally dig the crew. but i notice that the guardian and some others have a ram built-in to their combat but they have no triggers or anything to use these abilities. does anyone know if there is a reason for this, or is there a combo that uses it that I have not noticed? thanks
Requirement
Without waking the girlfriend to look at cards, Machine Puppet on Hoffman's card should point you in the right direction. Couldn't help myself, got the cards, looked them over. I now have no idea. Machine Puppet gives them :rams and Critical Strike so the only thing I can think of is gaining Critical Strike through some other means... maxvonlaibach
They'd get +2 Dg with critical strike and :rams:rams, right? That would put them at a potential +4 damage with lucky flips/cheats.
Cadilon
They'd get +2 Dg with critical strike and :rams:rams, right? That would put them at a potential +4 damage with lucky flips/cheats. I don't think so. Machine Puppet completely replaces the models Cb with Machine Puppet's Cb6:rams, so the one there now is lost.
E.T.A. Hoffman
But, that I dont understand. Machine puppet doesnt give you a rams in addition to your weapon. IT says in the desc of machine puppet that you make a strike with a basic weapon not using its own CB but the 6Rams that the ability gives you. So you do not get the double rams for CS. So that returns me to wondering why the feff so many Guild models have rams but no triggers. Mechanical Attendant Guardian Hunter - His claws have it but no trigger or abilities with it There is either a way to use the rams using another model. Or they truely have no purpose. And it's drive me crazy that I cannot figure it out lol
Lucidicide
It's all about game expansion. For example, Leveticus has a spell that adds a trigger to a model. Wyrd, in its infinite wisdom, recognized that as the game expanded, this sort of thing might happen. As such, they built into the original models the places they felt the suit was appropriate. In such time as the game expands to include more models that add triggers, those suits will be useful. Until that time, it's letting you know that that model has a special affinity for the stat... which means nothing :-P
E.T.A. Hoffman
Well that's a relief. Now I can give up the search. I felt like a dog chasing his own tail. I was never going to get it, but damned if I was going to give up trying Thanks
Requirement
Machine Puppet would be so brokenly overpowered if you ended up with :rams :rams Like awesomely overpowered.
