Combining Rasputina & Kaeris

i recently picked up Raspy and the Kaeris box and i am thinking about how to build a general 35ss crew with them. This is what im thinking of right now. ive heard a lot of good things about Kaeris and the student but he's kind of expensive and the crew gets pretty small if i use it.

Also i like that Kaeris gives Rasputina some mobility and staying near the student might hamper that a bit or am i wrong?Silent one seems like a must have and the gunsmiths seem really good :)What do you think of the crew? What would you change?

Even if you don't feel like using Kaeris for hit and runs, Student of Conflict is still fun in a Raspy/Kaeris crew. You don't have to use assist on the connected model. Use it on a Gunsmith and you can move it into position for a Leadstorm. Or just use it on Raspy for more icy spells of doom.

If going for a Kaeris crew I would also recommend the Large Steampunk arachnid (LSA) to help fill out you crew so it can play at 35 SS. Johan also helps.

As for a Fire & ice crew, you'll want at least 1 ice gamin, 2 Fire gamin, Silent one. That should be your core for the list. You need Silent one and ice gamin to maximize Raspy, and Kaeris really needs at lease 2 fire gamin, pref 3. I'm looking forward to Iggy when that comes out for Kaeris, but I don't think it will work in a Raspy lead crew. After that you should look at having a selection to be able to change based on the Strategies. Gunsmiths and LSA are both fairly good. thought I'd see if I can find something good for objective grabbing. Cassandra may lose a lot outside of a Colette list but she is second only to the Duet for objective grabbing.

I've been using the two so far and they definitely make a combo (Kaeris and Raspy). The big thing I've noticed is that Kaeris only has one spell that is not dependent on your opponents models having a burning token, and that spell is firewall. Having Fire Gamins available to throw down some more burning tokens will help maximize Kaeris' efficiency.

I also share your opinion on the Student of Conflict, but I have one and need to get him ready and try it out before I can say for sure. Kaeris having fast would be wonderful, but @ 4 stones it's also rather pricey. WindlordRyu has a point though, it's not just Kaeris who would benefit from it, and the only person who might complain about another round of cursing from December would be your opponent.

I would disagree on Kaeris needing fire gamin. I would follow what Ukrocky was doing with her at tourney's. Her range is very good, so move Kaeris upfield a little bit and hide her behind some piece of completely LoS blocking Terrain.

Step 1 Make her fast.

Step 2 Fly out from behind cover

Step 3 Use her ranged attack to put dmg and a burning counter on 1 or more models, because of her auto extra attack trigger.

Step 4 Use Accelerant or Immolate to kill or control a model that is causing you problems.

Step 5 Fly back behind your LoS Blocking Terrain.

She's not a minion, so taking her out isn't going to give any victory points to the opponent. If you put her in a spot away from any objectives the opponent has a choice of trying to silence her, which won't contribute to any of the VP needed for the game, or of devoting resources to shutting her down, which are then resources that are not being devoted to getting VP. Kaeris is an absolute steal for only 8 SS, and even if you figure the cost of a Student into her cost she's still a bargain for what she brings to the table.

I agree with this I dont think Gamin are nessisary at all I one a state turney here in Maine with a fire and Ice list and mine didnt incude Gamin at all i dont see them as being all that efective yes they help with range but i think they slow you down even more then you already are and that hurts Rapy more then the extra range helps her.

So do you think this non gamin list would work well? i'm a Colette player so i'll probably use her if i need a lot of mobility. This is intended to be more of a very shooty, raw power list as an alternative to Colette.
