TeeCee Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 If I manage to get the trigger “Blinding Flash”off with Colette, do I need LoS?Also I assume being a spell "Death Defying" would need LoS? Responses will be much appreciated. Quote
Finnegan Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Neither Blinding Flash nor Death Defying mention targeting, so LoS is not required. Quote
Q'iq'el Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Neither Blinding Flash nor Death Defying mention targeting, so LoS is not required. Actually the Spells always require LoS. Actions that are not spells do not require LoS if they don't mention targeting. There are Spells that do not target but use pulse or aura instead, but even then there are LoS-related rules to how these Auras and Pulses propagate. The proper rule is on page 50 and it is very clear only the Pulses and Auras do not require target and that all the other Spells require LoS. Having said that: 1) Blinding Flash is a Trigger, not a Spell, so it doesn't require LoS. 2) Death Defying is a Spell, but it takes the caster for its target ("Rng:C") and a model always has the LoS to itself. I'm not 100% sure it doesn't need the LoS to the other Showgirl, but I think it isn't necessary (swapping with a Showgirl within 18" is an effect of the Spell, after the Duel gets resolved. Targetting is a precisely defined step before the Duel starts - LoS is irrelevant at the point where you come to applying the effects of the spell, unless those are Pulses, Auras and Blasts, but those follow their own rules for propagation). In other words, it is as Finnegan said, just for different reasons. Quote
