So I recently finished painting one of my two Teddy's. I don't know what to do for the heart in the center. I have it painted blue, but I don't know what design I should put on top of it... any suggestions?

p.s. I am not even going to attempt a swirl... I want something more original. :)

Also, feel free to comment on the paint job if you want. ;)

Blue/Turquoise Gingham would look cool.. are you any good at painting checks?

Rain cloud?

I would be tempted, but I don't want him to look like a Care Bear.... lol.. Although if I could find a macabre way to draw a cloud on him, I would look into doing that.

I do have two teddy's though. This one is gray and the other is a cool shade of brown. Both have the blue center, eyes, and palms to tie in with the teddy bear we put on The Dreamer's base (http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?29966-This-is-going-to-be-legend-wait-for-it/page2) which was from an extra Kade we had. They are both being painted for the Dreamer, so maybe something to match the hat we made for him.. but that could still be passing into the Care Bear realm...

Such a hard decision for me for some reason... :/

I think the care bear idea isn't so bad if you take it to a dark place....like so much else in Malifaux. A raindbow spearing a bleeding heart or somesuch. A fanged flower. A wilting flower. A heart in shackles. (I could probably keep going...but I think I'll quite while ahead.)

I've always wanted a Teddy that says "Free Hugs" on its belly. One part local D&D crowd joke, one part "that's just bizarre". ;)

I like this. One with "Free Hugs" and one with "Kiss Me"......lol

hahhahahahahahahahahaha

Now that's an idea I like - I think I may end up painting it on my Teddy once I get round to working on it.

The paintjob here is really nice - I like the dark colors you used on the fur and teeth, come together really well.

The best way to paint Gingham is to start with the palest colour in the design. Then paint thin lines in a mid shade in grid layout. Once you have a grid fill the squares of the grid with the correct colours.

Thanks! :D I'm really proud of him. I tried painting him different.. he's only done black washes and dry brushing. :]

I will be trying something like this for my Female Desperate Merc. Jeremy and I are each getting one, mine female his male obviously, and we are painting them to be like ourselves. Mine will have a gingham/plaid/striped look about it since I steal his flannel and plaid button ups all the time. ;)
