thewartoad Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Here's a pic of a Fire Elemental I painted about 5 months ago...I just need to figure out how to take more "professional-grade" pictures? Comments and questions are appreciated Quote
SpiralngCadavr Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Hi, the mini looks pretty nice, though I'd try to get more highlights to match how strong the shading is. Regarding photography, a few tricks: 1- lighting: the further your camera is from the mini, the softer the flash will be (I prefer to use 2-3 desk lamps, as you're likely to get more even light (extra points if you have 2 strong light sources with one twice the distance from the mini as the other-- this is the typical basic professional setup for a 3 dimensional object) 2- surface: a big piece of white paper, curved by propping up the back (w/ a book or whatever) will get the job done fine if you don't want to invest in a backdrop, and makes your minis look way flashier than just doing them on whatever surface is around. good luck! RebeccaJo Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 I like the color and the shading. I also really like the sculpt. It looks like it was fun to paint. Quote
