Bruglyother Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Some more pictures in the blog, as well as a teaser of things to come. Quote
Requirement Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Certainly one of the cooler basings I have seen and the paint is pretty good too. Quote
LonelyPath Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Nice work and I must say that I love your bases! Quote
Jewomie Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Nice work! i went with a pretty standard color scheme on mine. It's nice to see some oringinal coloring on her! I have to say, i love your bases... the steam/smoke effects you use are really unique and i dig them. Quote
Bruglyother Posted March 23, 2012 Author Report Posted March 23, 2012 Thank you all. I am rather proud of my bases. I like to put a lot of effort into them since I don't do much converting on Malifaux minis. (I liike them too much as iss for the most part.) Quote
DeusInnomen Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 I came here for some fantastic anti-Kaeris tactica and I'm leaving seriously disappointed!! Kidding. Fantastic work, Brugly. The base is, indeed, an excellently done bit as well! Quote
*Jack* Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Certainly looks nice... Are those the wings in the kit? Quote
Bruglyother Posted March 23, 2012 Author Report Posted March 23, 2012 Certainly looks nice... Are those the wings in the kit? Yes, they are. I just cut them away from the backpack, and then reattached them at a better angle, while curving them a bit by hand. This gives a better illusion of flight. Quote

Well they look very nice I was considering getting some alt mechanical wings from somewhere, because I dont like the originals, but you've made them look so nice I'll give them a go Quote
Vmag Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Nicely done. I was thinking of doing something similar with Kaeris, pinning her off the base to give the hovering effect. I'm worried about the sturdiness of the model once she's pinned like that though. Have you had any issues along those lines with yours? I'll most likely just be using a paper clip as the pin. Quote
Bruglyother Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 She hasn't had any game play yet, so I'm not 100% sure on the sturdiness. But, she's up on brass rod that has been reinforced by the "smoke" process, so I don't anticipate any issues. Having done similar things before, I think a lot depends on the gauge of metal you use, and how much you reinforce/mask the rod. The thinner the wire, the more you want to hide it in something that can reinforce it. Quote
Vmag Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 Thanks. I've always just used paper clip for pinning but the pinning has always been to make direct contact with the model to the base so that has been perfectly fine. I've never tried suspending a model on paper clip before. Maybe I'll need to try some brass rod just in case. Quote
