Is the caster of a spell a "friendly model within X" ?

I am not that good in english, so it could be a misunderstanding of the wording, but I didn't see that in the rulebook or the forum, and i need a clarification here.

If a spell state "All friendly models within X", is the caster affected ? He is after all a friendly model, and is within range, but remembering that casters are unnafected by their own pulse and aura, I want to be sure.

For exemple, the Ashes and Dust Sacrifice the Weak: Sacrifice a friendly model within 3". All friendly models within 3" of that model make a Healing Flip.

Does the Ashes and Dust also make an healing flip ?

Yes.

Now, that's different than Auras and Pulses where the Caster is not part of it unless the description states otherwise.
