i im new and i wanted to know if its worht it to pick the studant of conflick or malifaux child or none

most people don't play any, she doesn't really have any spells to really take advantage of. But if you really want to play one, I'd go with student of conflict, but its mostly to give other fast.

Best use I've seen is to escort Convicted gunslinger. have them both run up turn 1, and turn 2 give the gunslinger fast, then have him move then take 2 shots on a single target.

If you're going to use a totem, the the Student of Conflict is the one you want. He's tricky to use, but Fast on one of the Victorias in an important turn can win the game. Of course if you use it in the wrong turn he won't be able to keep up the rest of the game and you'll have wasted 3 ss.

I find the student of conflict is a liability in smaller games.

He can be a game winner in certain Strategies (Treasure hunt when you go first, for example) but is too slow and expensive to be a must have. I find him a liability in games smaller than 35SS. 3 points is only one less than a friekorpsmen - a model that is waaay more flexible.

The Child is just a joke. Don't buy unless you want to challenge yourself... Or want another sculpt to use as a Stolen for Hamelin.

I think our best bet for the role of something resembling a totem will be the Outcast Effigy, as it has great synergy with Avatar Vikie(s).

In the meantime (assuming we don't proxy), Student of Conflict is a good contender. The real drawback, as mentioned, is that neither Viktoria, nor VonSchill has any spells it can cast. However, granting fast does make up for that. To avoid it being in the wrong place at the wrong time, consider hiring two of them, one for the Viktorias, one for VonSchill, that way there's one conveniently nearby to give any of your crew fast right when you need it. Being able to move a model into range, drop a shot or two and move back out of harm's way can be lethal. [Look at what it does for both Sonnia and Kaeris.]

if i would use it with hans to get rid of control card by trigering is headshot.but i would need a good hand too but would it be worth it to shoot 3 time with hans

Some totems are, indeed, unique. Student of Conflict, isn't one of them, so two (or even three, in a Brawl with a Henchman in your crew) could be hired. As the Student is a Merc, nearly anyone can run it.

Yeah, three shots from Hans would be ridiculous.

You can also play Viks tag team with the Student and the Librarian. Give one Vik fast each turn and use sisters to swap them back and two, while the Librarian heals them both. This also keep your vulnerable Totem and the Librarian protected as they will always be in range of one of the Viks.
