Demonn Agram
I just finished the awards for the first international Malifaux tournament in Croatia. I'm really looking forward to it. Every participant's getting a small swag bag, and the prizes are really cool also!

Demonn Agram
This weekend was the first part od the Agram Arena Summer 2012, an annual event my club organizes. We hosted a 40k tournament and a painting competition called Black Queen Miniature Competition. The competition was divided into 6 categories judged by a pannel of judges. the categories were: Single miniature, Large / Mounted miniature, Unit / Squad, Open, Diorama, Masterclass. This year for the first time, due to the increase of Malifaux player in our community, there was another category judged by our pannel - Best of Wyrd. Also, all the participants and visitors of the event could vote on one entry and the entry with the most votes would be crowned People's Choice. So, enough rambling, here come the winners (and some other entries..) Single Miniature 1.place: 2.place: 3.place: other entries: Large / Mounted Miniature 1.place: 2.place: 3.place: other entries: Unit / Squad: 1.place: 2.place: 3.place: other entries: Open 1.place: 2.place: 3.place: other entries: Diorama / Duel 1.place: Best of Wyrd: People's Choice: Masterclass 1.place: 2.place: 3.place: other entries: Next weekend - first ever international Malifaux tournament in Croatia is taking place as a part of part 2 of Agram Arena Summer 2012. daemonkin
The Best of Wyrd, Guardian is lovely. The NMM on the gold is really fantastic. D.
Chromophile
The Best of Wyrd, Guardian is lovely. The NMM on the gold is really fantastic. D. I have seen the real model, it was really awesome. The color scheme and technique are all very good. The painter told me he was trying out the "Iron Man" theme. I am happy the model won Best of Wyrd. Viruk
Lots of cool stuff and the awards you created are totally awesome.
Demonn Agram
thanks guys for the positive feedback! It was a cool competition, with lot's of great entries. My photographs don't do them justice anyway, tomorrow I'll put up another photo of the awards and swagbags for the Malifaux tournament coming this weekend and also the progress on my four minis I need to paint and about 15 markers/counters... Demonn Agram
As the tournament is rapidly nearing, the prize fund grows steadily (unlike my pile of finished models): However, I managed to finish my counters / markers: going back to front: evidence markers, (un)lit dynamite, treasure marker - after painting. after putting the static and the rest of the flock: all of my counters, markers and wagon together: still have those four minis to finish (Steampunk Dorothy, Male desp.merc., McTavish and Hamelin). However I did paint their bases: Today I have to do the basic painting which would then leave me with the detailwork for tomorrow...
Brushmistress
I really love how the bases for Hamelin and McTavish look!
Demonn Agram
Coming from an IP winner, this really holds weight. thanks (I suppose it's the trees - as they are the same as in your winning entry, right? *grin*)
Brushmistress
Lol - no, it's not just the trees. You've got an excellent drybrushing technique that lends a moody feel to the bases.
Demonn Agram
after this ego boosting from an IP winner (Thanks again BM ), yesterday after work I sat down and started painting the four unfinished models. I decided to do Hamelin and McTavish yesterday and leave the Steampunk Dorothy and Desp.Merc for today before the Pre-Arena party with all the players at tomorrows tournament.. anyway, this is the result: the pic is a bit crappy as I'm really seriously running out of time - after the event I'll photograph the whole crew as they deserve... Viruk
I actaully liked the bases better before you added the foliage but that's probably just me and my preference for dark colors and smooth highlights
Demonn Agram
I actaully liked the bases better before you added the foliage but that's probably just me and my preference for dark colors and smooth highlights just back from the tournament. actually there are some who think the same as I narrowly lost the Best Painted Crew (congrats, Gujozec, once again) nevermind - there's always room for improvement... the tournament report will be written soon (hopefully)..
