Demonn Agram
WOOOOHOOOO!! it's drying nicely AND it has stayed where it's supposed... (if i could only find the origigi head..) @Sybarite: thanks. me too *grin*
Demonn Agram
OK, the entry is in. so I thought I'd put some more WIP photos: finished painting the walls and the wooden beams, also placed some of the bitz. (no resin yet).. after reinforcing the dams I poured in the first layer of resin and while it was curing I carefully added other bitz (I was extra careful not to tilt the piece as it would cause teh resin to run out) also, it's good to place your piece in a dish (metal box in this example) just in case your dams give way, the rest of the workplace doesn't get destroyed by resin.. the final piece will be here as soon as it's cleared for the competition... Viruk
Looks like each floor of the building is nicely packed with various bits and there is a story going on there. Taking good pics of this piece will be a bit of a challenge
Demonn Agram
I know. This is the best I could do... and the final product:
stinkoman
Awesome job! the cob webs and water were great touches. BTW, is that a soda pop mini?
Demonn Agram
Yup. it's made for the sodapop competition at Wamp. it's the Togan and Cecilia mini. although Cecilia now has a Wyrd Cassandra head as I lost the original head... Viruk
Plenty of action going on with many varied elements but the whole thing seems very well planned. The painting is top notch, I particularly like the skin tone on the mage (?). The cobwebs are a fantastic touch too. Overall - excellent work, good luck to your rivals in the competition - they will need it.
Demonn Agram
another entry for another (Reaper) competition at Wamp forum:
Viruk
Another sweet piece from you. Everything looks right here - great details on the path, just the right amount of greenery and excellent painting on the minis.
Wings
Gorgeous as normal Demonn. I *really* like the paving slabs for some reason.
Demonn Agram
Thanks guys (and gals ) here are some WIP shots that might explain how I made those paving slabs.. Well, finally started work on my Reaper entry.. Building the base: and trying to annihilate all the GW skulls.. well most of them... so you see, the paving slabs are plaster. I made the surrounding terrain with DAS clay. and in the "rift" between two clay "islands" I poured the plaster (after the clay dried). starting the paintwork: little more paintwork: so after undercoating, I cut in the slabs into the plaster using an ice-pick (or any similar sharp object will do). I painted then every slab into different basecolour. I used Fiery Orange, Red Gore, Vermin Brown, the orange Foundation colour (don't know it's name LOL). when it dried, I washed over it with Ogryn Flesh and afterwards with Badab Black. Let it dry and drybrush with aforementioned orange foundation colour and afterwards with Fiery orange. last drybrush is with Bleached bone and Skull white. Same method was used for walls as well... Demonn Agram
Finally.. and I do mean, finally I started work on my Ten Thunders crew. Had a bit of trouble assembling them as there's no how-to-assemble cheat sheat and there are a LOT of pieces per each model. Here are my heros undercoated: I also tried an experiment. The Ototo model creates a sort of a splash (be it water or energy) with his stick so I decided I'd try to mold it and cast it in coloured resin using the Vallejo Extra Heavy Gel and Water Effect Mediteranian blue Gel. and this is the result so far (the white bit should dry clear): Tomorrow I'll hopefully have Shang painted (the cat/fox) and maybe another model or two... Mako
Clever, I like the idea! In fact. I'll be watching this really carefully as I need to use the heavy gel for some stuff soon...
Darios
nice idea... but again i have to ask...? with your Quality and Output... do you have a real live? do you feel sometimes the need for sleep or food? Oo
Peterdita
I know, is there ever time for the girlfriend? :Powerful_Puppet:
Wings
Thanks for the step by step for the Reaper base! I'll have to remember that basing things in different colours makes it look wonderful. I look forward to seeing how your Ten Thunders turn out. dgraz
Shang is awesome. You molded his tail too huh? Or is that just bits added on? Hard to tell.....either way, it looks way cool.
Demonn Agram
thanks! tail was painted blue then I added onto it the Extra Heavy Gel and modelled it to resemble watery/energy-like something or other
Mako
Love it. You've given me the kick I needed to finally get out the heavy gel and do something with it! Now all I have to do is think of something to do... Clever use of it over the painted stuff to make the boundary between paint and gel impossible to pick out. Viruk
He looks as if he was buzzing with energy, great paintjob and the effects you added are great too.
