Tarragon
Odd title I know, but anyway... I'm doing my Lilith crew, and I've got the image in my head of how I want them, and that's in a forest in autumn. I can imagine them following the scent of blood, relentlessly tracking their victim... ... Sorry, got carried away. But anyway, I can't work out how to do autumn leaves on the cheap. I've thought about cutting up a few shades of coloured paper, but that would take a lot of time, and wouldn't look all too realistic. Help? Tarragon
Hmm, interesting! Trouble is, it doesn't look like there's enough on one sheet for them to cover 5 30mm bases and one 50mm base, and they could get expensive pretty quickly. Also, while I'm on it, has anyone got a technique for getting a good wood effect on bases, as in actual sticks and stuff? I have an idea for the Mature Nephilim to be perched in the fork of a fallen tree, and Lilith to be standing on a log, or tree trunk or something. Cadilon
I've been thinking about doing my own brass etching for stuff like this. Anyone done this?
bucket_boy101
I can't seem to remember which one, but in one of my very old White Dwarf magazines, there is an article about doing leaf litter on bases. It was around the time when the WFB Wood Elves were a new range. It recommended using mixed herbs, and doing things to them. Alas I cannot remember what these things are. WookieeGunner
Something like this? http://www.skullcrafts.com/leaf_scatter.htm
ispep
Birch pods work well for leaves (like the ones Skullcrafts sells, although you can find other sources), and for logs etc real sticks work great, you just have to look for the right ones. Hedges/shrubs are usually a good source.
Tarragon
All the products look awesome! I did have someone point me towards Scenic Express Autumn Glory blend, which is PERFECT! Problem is, I'm from the UK. That means international shipping for the US products costs nearly as much as the product itself... I think I'll stick with using herbs and stuff. Thanks for your help!
