bowchikawowers
mako, about how much should I dilute the paints to get to good model painting consistency?
Mako
Have fun with that! ---------- Post added at 12:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:01 AM ---------- Oh, the usual rule is 'it can always be thinner' lol. But really, once it starts to look like coloured milk, that's about right. Depends how fussy you want to be as to which milk. I paint with skimmed milk level paints, but when I'm feeling lazy I go up to 10%. Heh
bowchikawowers
... why can't I use straight paint? ---------- Post added at 06:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:05 PM ---------- nevermind, I see why.
Mako
It's a mare to keep the details clean if you have thick paint. Several thin layers is smoother than one thick one typically, and on this stuff a single brush mark shows up massively. ---------- Post added at 12:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:07 AM ---------- Ahh, that joyous moment of realisation. I love it when I find those these days. They used to drive me mad, cos I figured it meant I'd got it wrong. These days, I see them more as proof I've found something to work on. *grin*
edonil
Heh, yep, familiar with those kinds of realizations...they definitely are a good thing.

Mako
Oh, why does Sophie torture me so? She's decided that a pushing daisies crew would be amusing. With the piemaker able to make a model that dies take a 1 action before it's removed, but chuck having an aura called 'any last words or requests?' that makes it a spell only... bowchikawowers
this paint consistency is going to take 20 million layers... not 3...
Mako
Yeah, sadly it can do! What colour are you using, and what primer colour did you use?

Don't you have enough stuff to do? I could have sworn an SPG crew was on the list somewhere already.
Mako
I think she's trying to work me into an early grave. That or a padded cell, lol. Luckily, with 2.0 looming, there's no point doing any new models and stats til I see the new rules and models.
bowchikawowers
Yeah, sadly it can do! What colour are you using, and what primer colour did you use? orange, and black primer, because it was the only primer they had. I'd rather have used white. I know what paint does over white! I also tend toward lighter paint schemes.
Mako
Yeah, that'll take a while! Red, orange and yellow all suck over black. Takes ages. I still do it, mind you. I'm quite stupid really!

edonil
And we're back...(yawn) Going to be a long night, I'm betting... hitting the gym this morning before I slept might not have been a good plan.
Mako
Heh, I warned you that all that exercise stuff was bad for you!
edonil
Actually, the exercise itself was fun, oddly enough. We'll see about tomorrow, lol, stuff might hurt there. But the bigger deal is that it woke me up, so I didn't get to bed for a while!
Mister Shine
Im trying to do about 8k a day. My legs are dying. They have atrophied from years of comfy chairs. They dislike this exercise thing

Mako
Ah, tactical blunder there! That's why I used to go before work, rather than before bed.
