Mako
Heh yup. Hideously ugly woman, she is. So far, from the thread, people have let slip Molly, Lucius, teddy, rafkin, Von Schill, jack daw, collodi, snow storm and judge. And that's nine of the ten decks lol... edonil
Hm. Jack Daw? That's an interesting one. I'll definitely need to snag Molly and Snow Storm. Jack would be interesting, I'm betting.
Mako
Jack used to hurt my head. He messes with you so much. Lucius was a giggle, looked really straightforward then he'd suddenly have a new plan just after you worked out how to deal with the previous one. bowchikawowers
huh. that's an interesting model. i can appreciate the artistry. it's harder to make a lifelike ugly person than it is to make one that's good looking. she definitely needs to talk to whoever is in charge of her wardrobe though. also might want to get those scratches taken care of. Mako
Snow was a good one, one of my favourites I think. Him and the other arcanist, along with Lucius, are my top three I reckon.
edonil
Sybelle's dead, lol. And honestly, it is a good sculpt. Just...ugh. Impressively ugly. Much as I like Seamus, I really don't like the rest of his starter box from aesthetics...zombie hookers aren't my thing.
bowchikawowers
what are you guys talking about...?
edonil
Wyrd is putting out a new game called Showdown. Mako was (I believe) a tester for it, I wasn't. It's decks of cards themed around particular characters from Malifaux and there's a game that goes with them. I'm just curious which characters and he's teasing about the rules, darn him. *wink*
Mako
...hm...I'm definitely looking forward to this one. I like quick and easy games that have some depth to them! It's quite good when you realise one player has got into the others head and you have to switch round all your plans and playstyle to stop it happening. Quite fast and a real comedy mind game ---------- Post added at 04:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:10 AM ---------- Hey, I was told I could admit to testing it and talk about it, but I don't want to give it all away! Suffice to say I'll definitely be getting all ten of the starter decks and it'll be a real blast to have at GenCon for when we've got a few minutes. Dustcrusher
I know the last one, hehe. Fun to play, that one. Sadly, I didn't get to contribute much to that playtest. Hopefully I can make it up somewhere along the line.
edonil
How many players can you get in on a game? ---------- Post added at 11:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:12 PM ---------- Evening Dust, how are you?
Dustcrusher
As was said in the thread, it's the perfect way to kill 15-20 minutes while you're waiting between rounds at a tournament or for a scheduled game's opponent to arrive. I think y'all will like it, unless you suck at bluffing- eh, I do, and it's still fun.
Mako
Two players, but it's fast enough to be able to switch out players after games while one gets a drink or something. Yeah, that last one is a real gem. Mind you, when it comes unstuck, it really goes bad fast!
edonil
Aw, that's too bad, I could always use more group games...still, I'll be picking up at least two decks regardless.
Dustcrusher
Not bad. Of course, when there may be a Malifaux tournament next month, what am I inspired to do? Write fan rules for Kings of War, of course! Whatever my muse's name is, if I even have one...she really likes to pull me to and fro, then just shut down. One small touch of grey on the raise- apparently we won't see it until the end of May. On the other hand, it's retroactive, so that check will be a bit bigger than normal. Mako
Well, I'll definitely have them all (or close to it) so you can always try some out if you've not bought in by GenCon!
edonil
congrats on the raise, here's hoping it's a good one! And you definitely have a muse, sounds like Elle...now you just need to know her name so you can complain about her properly. *wink* That works for me! Oh, Chris, Mako, since you're both on, have a question for you- if you guys were given a choice between having a home base for the campaign in a pioneer town on the edge of explored Malifaux, a mining town run by the Union, a Guild outpost, or a Malifaux City slum, what sounds least interesting to you?
bowchikawowers
the leas interesting? probably guild outpost. it doesn't sound like much happens there without their say so.
Mako
Ah, see I was thinking slum. Being right underneath the guild just makes shenanigans more fun to get away with! Lol.
bowchikawowers
mako's vote should probably count for more than mine... he's more familiar with malifaux...
edonil
Hm. Okay. I'll work on fleshing those two out a little more tonight so that you guys have an idea of the way I'm thinking of things. Some of the stuff right now that I'd say would be that the Guild Outpost you'll have more reliable access to basic supplies, have less problems in town with random monsters killing things, and more access to certain types of jobs. The Slums have fewer Guild members patrolling, so you can get away with being rougher, and you'll have a better chance at finding some more...exotic items. In addition, you'll find more dangerous jobs that have the potential to be more lucrative, but you'd also have a higher chance of being stiffed on the bill. ---------- Post added at 11:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:31 PM ---------- mako's vote should probably count for more than mine... he's more familiar with malifaux... Nope! I wouldn't say that at all. All of you are players, you get an equal vote. He just has more to draw on to argue you around to his point with. *wink*
bowchikawowers
what's the union anyway? i haven't gotten that far in the history... assuming it's there. ---------- Post added at 10:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 PM ---------- haha, pretty sure anyone elseo n this forum has more to draw on than I do.
