hypoking
Nothing wrong with simple. Edit: 8th ms team's a perfect example fo simple story telling at its finest. Boy meets girl. Boy end girl end up on opposite sides of a conflict. Boy and girl find a way to make it work. Simple, focused perfection. Like Platoon meets Romeo and Juliet w/ giant robots? Webmonkey
Teenagers is a common thread. As are certain other things. There usually has to be one, big boobed ditz of a girl,... and the guy with the white hair, is usually a bad-ass,...

edonil
I save that term for the overused ones. And I've even seen some of those used really well. Star Crossed Lovers is probably one of the oldest tropes in existence, but Gundam: 08th MS team did an amazing job centering a war story around it. But then there's the other couple dozen stories that did a horrible job with them, lol.
Mister Shine
Isnt pointing that out some kind of trope? hypoking
Weird thing is that sight's getting more and more granular. Instead of one trope for chesty ditzes you've probably got a dozen subcategories by now.

Webmonkey
Though the witchblade plot is kinda cool. But honestly, I liked the comics better. Truly, I'm more interested in The Darkness, and The Angelus,.. then in the Witchblade itself though.
