tadaka
I think given Wyrd if they ever did the freak show thing all the models would be normal. So they would have the Bearded Man, The Unconjoined Twins, The amazing 5 foot 8 inch man. They could then give them all abilities based on the freaks they should be. So the bearded man can make any female model take a moral check as they freak out from growing facial hair. The Unconjoined twins would put link on 2 models and give both models slow. DarkWingDuck
I'll break from lurking for a second to throw out my random thought. Origami Master An old man from the three kingdoms, he's either an arcanist or an outcast. He can breathe "life" into paper models. Game-wise, he's a card manipulator. He can sacrifice cards from his hand to create paper tokens (better cards might create more tokens), which he can then use to summon more models or cast spells. Spells might be: Fold Crane - Summons a paper crane. (sacrifice 1 paper counter per wound) Fold Tiger - Summons a paper tiger. Fold Elephant - Summons a paper elephant/dinosaur. Fortune Teller (1) - Grant some flip advantages. (sacrifice 1 paper counter) Fold Paper Box - Bury target model. (sacrifice 2 paper counters) Paper Fan - Push target model X" (sacrifice 1 paper counter) Deconstruct (1) - Take summoned paper constructs apart to redraw cards (1 per existing wound). Call Forth Paper (0) - Sacrifice cards for paper counters. etc. etc. Wyrd probably wouldn't like to make him though, since the models would all be rather 2 dimensional :-). Dark Alleycat
Triad Tattoo Master. And the model itself could have the tattoos popping halfway free of his body to make it slightly easier to paint.Someone like the Freikorp librarian...maybe even give his tattoo's aura type bonuses to other Triad special division models. Think a old chinese guy, whose standard weapon is tattoo needles. cb 3 0/1/2 with a severe damage trigger of discard a card or paralyzed. But give him a good cast and make the tattoo's spells. maybe wk 3/- Ca 6 Df4 Wnds 5. Summons spirit beasts from his tattoos..either as actual creatures or different attacks. Like Dragon does a blast attack like the specialist. Crane does an attack similiar to the Austringer, perhaps ignoring los.Tiger does a pulse of a couple inches and 2-3 dg or 2 wounds.Carp does a healing flip on self or a target.Snapping turtle gives armor 3 and +2 def but -2 wk. Make them all variations on a (1) action that he can only do once a turn perhaps. or possibly make them a (all) action to make them affect all friendly models within say...6" or so. Jonas Albrecht
I really like the idea of a Plant based Master. We really only have one Master that "grows" minions (Lilith), so I say there's still room to explore.
Doctor Amos
First of all: there will never, ever, ever be a circus crew. Evah. Deal with it. Re: $$$$$$$$$$$$. Sandwich
I'm just going to fill out a character sheet that we can all agree will be the most significant model in the game. *Protip: All things on card save last trigger are words from Mr. Marston's mouth. John Marston Master 30MM Base 0 Soul Stone Cache Wk/Cg: -/32 Ht: 2 Wp: 10 Ca: 3 Df: 18 Wd: * Cattleman's Revolver Rg: 16" Cb: * Dg: 8/10:blast:blast/12 :blast:blast:blast Throwing Knife Rg: 10" Cb: 8 Dg: Unicorn / Bearicorn / Cougarcorn TALENTS: Abilities: Redemption: This model cannot be killed or sacrificed. No counters or effect may be generated by enemy models while this model is in play. At the end of the Encounter, this model is considered Killed for Victory Points. After this model is Killed, and during the Burial Phase where they play Bury Me Not on the Lone Prairie, if either player bursts into tears, they gain + 8 Vp and deserve a Soda, which must be purchased by the opposing player. I ain't yellow, mister!: This model is immune to Morale Duels. Models capable of generating Morale Duels must win a Wp -> 30 duel or be killed as long as this model is in play. How exactly does he run forever?: Instead of taking Walk actions, push this model up to its Cg instead. Ain't no Such thing as Magic, mister!: While this model is in play, models capable of casting spells may not cast spells, and cannot use Soul Stones. If a Spell is accidentally announced, John Marston immediately makes 6 Cattleman's Revolver Strikes against that model. Snake Oil? I may be stupid, but I ain't no Fool!: Any time an enemy model makes a healing flip, that model is Sacrificed unless that model's controller discards 3 Soul Stones and 3 Control Cards. Each time this ability takes effect, gain 3 Soul Stones and draw up to 7 Control Cards. Weapons Cattleman's Revolver: Each time an attack is declared with this weapon, automatically make a damage flip against defender. Throwing Knife: Each time a model is hit with this weapon, it is considered Killed so long as this model's controller yells out "UNICORNS!" and sticks a pin in target model's head. Actions: (+4)Dead Eye: This model must make 4 Cattleman's Revolver Strikes against 4 different models, these models do not need to be in range and all Strikes made ignore Armor, Bulletproof, Cover, and Tears of Hopelessness. (1)I'm Gonna Give you a Bad Case of "Someone Just Shot me in the Head": If this model's Controller utters the name of this Action in a gravely voice with a Southern Drawl, kill target model and gain 9 Soul Stones, and pat yourself on the back. (1)It's Nothin' Personal, Friend: Immediately make four 4" Semi-Automatic Shotgun Blast Strikes at enemy model. These strikes are made with a Cb 10 and deal 7/7/7:blast:blast. Target model may not target this model for the rest of the encounter, as being shot with a semi automatic shotgun from less than five feet away is never anything personal. Triggers: Df(:rams)Ow, Damn it!: After this model loses the Duel, push this model behind the nearest terrain. After waiting for 6 seconds, fully heal this model regardless of the greivous bullet wounds. Cb(:crows)I fought the law and they killed me with the Army: If this model damages a guild model, that player may immediately place up to 45 Guild Guard models. Those models may only target John Marston. For each of the Place models killed by John Marston, gain 2 VP. Sandwich
I dig the Bowler hat wearing, cigar smoking gambler card boss idea. That seems like it'd be a lot of fun, and could have a great story behind it. I'm not much for bringing pre-existant entities into the game, it ruins the creativity of having unique entities. yetischool
I also enjoy the idea of some sort of Riverboat gambling, mustachioed, charming master. Mine would likely be an archanist, and instead of focussing on magic, his focus would be on running the black market. He'd have access to a wide variety of other archanist minions, but his own focus would be on commerce. I've also always had in my head a Resurrectionist Master, the Artist. In Malifaux he's found the power to push his artistry to the absolute limits, using unwary citizens as his canvas. I envision his crew a mix of living and undead models in various degrees of alteration at the hands of the artist as he uses them as his canvas. In his pursuit he leaves his subjects (victims) tortured, mutilated and psychotic parodies of what they once were. His ultimate goal, to perfect the frail and flawed human form using the powers within Malifaux and create a beauty otherwise unknown to the world. Sleeper00
I have always though of another Neverborn master. Cardinal Sins. Has the tall "pope" hat and vestments. Either given a crew of the 7 deadly sins, or he would have a power for each of them. I would just as easily see alter boys, nuns, monks, etc rounding out the crew. Or he could work well with Nephlim as his "angel" crew. The thought of the little round master in his vestments gives me the chills.
Bigmike
dont know if it would make for a good master but i would love to see neverborn cultists. People who think that they will be taken in for serving the neverborn.
danp164
Theodore T Bear, The rogue Teddy who struck out for himself when he realised that his neverborn masters just used him as a babysitter. Once he comes tot he realisation he tries to live a normal life free of neverborn and see's the exploitation on constructs around him and decides to form a crew of constructs to fight for equal construct rights!! Yeah kinda influenced by a story I wrote over in the writing room But come on, a Outcast crew led by a Teddy master, ye can get no better,
tmsmnns
I would love to see a guild master that encompasses the really, really bad side of the guild. Some kind of evil prison guard with a chain gang. With a warden who can clap the opposition in irons and have them join your own crew. Set it off with your own prisonners needing to be controlled (or they join the other crew) and you have some cool possibilities. Maybe an arcanist master that can really control the lay of the lands? Lilith used to have this nice abillity to walk through houses, which would be cool to re-introduce in a perhaps less melee-centered master. Sort of like Davy Jones in Pirates of the carribean. Maybe even let her move certain scenery around (and everybody standing on it too). Couple it with elemental minions that he can summon and boost. (this one is a request for my friend, who thinks Malifaux lacks really big models )
Mentat_Canis
Well for the Arcanists we have Electric:Ramos Fire:Kearis Ice:Rasputina Earth/nature:Marcus Wind/Air: New Master? Her name could be Aero I don't know with lots of push and pull effects and a fast crew wk 5 or 6 on most/all. Or ok I don't have an or these are hard to come up with.
