Katcher
Fine, so I send my Freikorps to the Malifaux for the first time, and hell, they rock. My roster standartly look like Schill, Libby, Specialist, Student of Confict, 1/2 Trapper, 1/2 Freikorpsmann, Hans / Taelor First game was against McMourning - Treasure hunt - shared. Fine, ok - Von Schill with Fast from student is a speed freak. And Hard ass comand, combined with stubborn makes plus 6 bonus for WP, making the standart defence WP number around 11. Take the treasure, ignore some lures from Rotten Belles, trapper shoot some doggies and then, a win. Second one was slaughter againts Dreamer. He charged with LCB with practically no support thinking "Shooty boys sucks in CC" and hoopsie. One of Freikorpsmann dead, but later on Von Schill finished LCB, lightened a cigar and one little headshot to the little Dreamer with some german kick ass quote. Oponent had just 3 daydreams on table, so he surrendered.
Wodschow
Glad to hear that you like the Freikorps There's two things I feel I have to say though. 1. Hard-Ass only gives the Wp bonus in morale duels. Ie. Wp-resist flips such as those for Lure are entirely unaffected by it. 2. When a Master (or both Masters in the case of Dreamer/LCB) is killed or sacrificed their connected totems are also sacrificed, so the Dreamer player wouldn't even have had the Daydreams left
Katcher
I didnt have time to use the Aura, so thanks...What is for example morale duel? Thanks for the Totem sacrifice. We were both newbies.. And yes, I like Freikorps. They are well balanced and universal, I would say.
Thunder_God
Things that say "Morale duels". Mature Nephilim's Rip in Half, Sybelle's Shriek, The Hanged's Last Words, and a couple others. Basically, things that act like Terrifying but aren't Terrifying, since you don't count as the Defender for Terrifying. I think that's not right, BTW... the original book's wording makes it seem that if you need to resist Terrifying, you're the "Defender" (even if there may not be an attacker). Regardless of that, it's weird that all those "+WP for morale duels while defender" rules don't apply to Terrifying. Such as the Death Marshalls and terrifying undead... Really makes all those abilities considerably less useful, since the vast majority of morale duels come from Terrifying models.
Adran
Terrifying is a morale duel, so you would get the Hard arse bonus, but you are not the defender so you don't get the stubborn. I think the Lawyers spell is the only thing that would give you the +6 wp from both. But still the friekorps are good
Sturm88
I have been having fun driving people cray with Von Schill all over the board. I delivered a message on the second turn, after being Lured right next to Seamus, I actually had to cheat it down, haha. Anyways, (2)Interact to deliver the message and +1Nimble to (0)Augmented Jump behind a house, but not before my specialist rounded the house to nail Von in the back to cheat down the blast. Getting Seamus and a Belle. My other Scheme, was to hold the house, haha. It was a perfect set-up that fell into place. I really am liking Von Schill a whole lot. The thing I am having trouble with, is finding the Trapper to be usefull. I would always much rather hae Hans or a Gunslinger for range support. Without sniper-ish abilities, he is limited to being effective against Constructs/Beasts. I guess his main goal is the Advance Deploy thing to get objectives. Dark Alleycat
Well,he isnt able to deploy within 12 inchs of objectives. Have you considered this however? you set up right beside a building or in a window. you shoot and use reposition to get out of line of sight.
