Kaane Feinwong
My Mobile Toolkit. When I read the description, I thought more of a steam-powered pack mule than the weird diving ball that was pictured. It even says they would sometimes name it like a horse or mule. I still need some knee joints and some buckles on the rubber-band. (I'm gonna paint the rubber band like a leather straps). The bits are from various model and watch bits I had. The core is out of Loctite repair putty. With luck, I'll have some paint on it by the weekend. Oh, and her name is "Mother Brain".
karn987
Awesome! She should have a hat to *nods*
Kaane Feinwong
Update: Base painted, front legs done. The left leg needs a touch up, but working with putty that small is tough! You have a small window to work with.
LoboStele
Very cool!!
Kaane Feinwong
And painted. I had an accident with one of the legs. I didn't use any wire in them and should have. I may end up reforming them one day as they are kinda brittle. Overall, I impressed myself. This was my first model to create by hand. I think I'll do a Hunter next. Kaane Feinwong
When all this ice is gone, I'll pick up another Brass Arachnid and try again. That will fix the leg issue and I can use the body as part of the engine in the back.
BigMek
Looks pretty good, nice scratchbuild. I have to say that when I heard the name "mobile toolkit" this is not at all what I imagined (mind you, I don't have the second book yet), very steampunky though. Kaane Feinwong
Mobile Toolkit Version 2.0 Much better this time. Once I get all the bits painted, I'll add some leather straps.
Wodschow
They remind me alot of the towers from Portal xD But that's a good thing
Sholto
I thought the first one was good and that the paintjob made it great. This second version is great already, so I'm looking forward to seeing the paintjob Fantastic work!
Kaane Feinwong
Done. I didn't shade off the brass any because I wanted it to look brand-spanking new.
Doctor Amos
They remind me alot of the towers from Portal xD But that's a good thing I alluded to that earlier. But, yes, Steampunk Poral is probably for the best.
