eudaimon
I really like Malifaux, the models, the fluff and the game. I have been really looking forward to getting my brush working on my first crew for about 6 months or so, but have had to finish off my Skaven. Now, finally, I have some time to dedicate to the Cult of December, starting with a Gamin. I have been inspired by the wonderful work on the Ice Golem in Chronicles 1. This is a base coat of 3 parts Scaly Green, 1 part Liche Purple Next I have started the highlights with pure Scaly Green. Next is a 50/50 Scaly Green / Hawk Turquoise mix, then an Electric Blue / Hawk Turquoise mix. Finally its Electric Blue / Wolf Grey, then pure white to finish. The belly has been done with an undercoat of Desert Yellow, then worked up through to pure Dead Flesh. The base will follow in due course, I hope you like! Kathie v Vhoorl
Looks Great! Your highlights really 'pop' and make the model look very nice.
thewartoad
Great highlights...show us some more!
Nathan Caroland
Excellent work. Eric is a believer in 'highlight to white' so I'm sure he'll give a big thumbs up.
fcwookiee
Really Nice. What are you going to do for the base?
eudaimon
And here is the rest of the Gamin clan... Group hug! Thanks all for your kind words so far, keeps me inspired. For the base I have a plan for half a pre-moulded base, have a home made one. Don't know if it will work, it'll take a while for the bases to get here. In the meantime, its model painting time! dgraz
Good God man!!! Took quite some time to go thru that entire thread, but it was well worth it. Imaginative, well painted, sweet conversions (unit fillers are unreal) - seriously dedicated to do so much work on 2k worth of rats. It's amazing that I hardly ever use an ink and you have a style that is almost entirely inks. So much of it is really great. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see what kind of craziness you do over here. Edited January 21, 2011 by dgraz
eudaimon
Thanks mate, that is really nice of you. Looks like I will have to go back to the Skaven sooner than I thought (and make it tougher to boot) as I just made the Australian ETC team for Warhammer. I'll finish up the Cult of December first though.
eudaimon
And here is my Ice Golem, done in a similar way. Cheers!
Elazar
These look awesome, great work! Also good to see from your link before that you're a user of the home-made wet palette. No hobbyist should be without one!

eudaimon
Thanks for the comments all, and here is some more! I've also gone mental and painted the acolyte. Massively over costed in game of course, but a great model. I started with a black undercoat and then went over it with white from the top. I decided to paint this model "inside out" and finish each section in order of difficulty to reach with the brush. Like so.... And the finished off with the same basing... LoboStele
Woah, very nice. I like the shading on the acolyte's cloak.
FoeRender
cool finally a cult of December crew that looks great on the table , in my neck of the woods usually the players that play December are cheesemongers that like to cast the same spell over and over and paint them like total garbage .
