Painting with the speed of a thousand dead courtesans in stasis chambers

So uhm... I bought a WWG-house and started assembling it. It was more difficult business than I imagined with paper warping and all kinds of evil nastyness.

Warping paper is the mother of creativity, though!

Get-everything-in-place-station, available soon for only 59.99$! And yes, somewhere underneath is a to-be Ye olde magic shoppe

Wait... it seems to be the operative word with this thread.

Love your flams on Criid's base.

Thanks, it was hell painting them, and they didn't even turn out the way I had imagined. Couldn't be arsed with vanilla orangey flames though.

Really nice work there - it makes me want to get on with my Ressies!

Can't wait to see more :)

Thanks! Lo and behold, I actually have an update. Not an undead sort of update, but still an update.

How the hell did I miss this thread? Your Seamus Crew is awesome. He looks so dark and sinster in the Moonlight blue. And the cat is just creepy (more proof that cats are indeed evil).

Thank you! And yes, Mr. Chester is the most evil of the two. And cuddly, of course.

Anyways, the pretty tiny update:

Also, a maybe not as exciting diorama-thing of my finally finished WWG-house:

What's your pleasure, sir?

Oh wow, that is a...a really creepy and yet truly cool take on the Freikorps. I am not sure it would work for all of them, due to only him having that rag across his face, but its certainly interesting.

Thanks! I wanted a little more steampunky Freikorpsmann, so went with the shaved skull instead of skullcap. And it would prolly not work on the rest of the lot, yeah... Not going to get myself any more though, I think, I just wanted one for extra crispy Criid-action! And possibly Seamus, if facing Pandora..

Recently got the urge to start building a McMourning crew with Silent Hill theme/influences. Influences will mainly be from Silent Hill 2 (which by the way is a great game!) but might contain bits and pieces from all over the place.

First up is what will probably end up as a Flesh construct. Or Sebastian, not sure. Anyone with any other ideas?

So, 1-2 hours a day for two weeks time have so far resulted in this:

Start of the legs, some armature hidden inside.

Start of an arm. Never done bare skin, so props to those talented few that can pull this off!

Start of the helmet.

Great knife!

Almost finsihed

Finally decided to go with the kitchen mittens-styled gloves instead of 5-fingered ones. Plus, he actually wears those kind of gloves in the game, so boyah!

Will try to get him painted asap, but figured I might as well post these WIP-pics of what is to come!

Thanks Durek. :)

Some more WIP shots, this time of the planned bases, since I couldn't wait for the official morgue ones, and a Lying figure.

We'll see how much more 100% sculpting I will manage, since it's damn hard. These two are my first ever, and my sculpting skills can obviously improve.

Anyways, more pictures!

Dr. Douglas McMourning all finished on his new shiny morgue base. Spiced it up a bit and gave him a big bag ‘o bodyparts for convenience!

Douglas was probably my first proper attempt at blood spatter effects, Pyramid head being the very very first. Blood effects is the Internet renowned Tamiya clear red mixed with GW black ink, spread out with a single straw from an old dish-brush.

Originally, I had planned to give him a tartan-like shirt, but after comparing to standard stripes, it just didn’t look as good. Now he almost feels like a pool player from behind.

Besides from the left part of his face, which was damn near impossible to get right due to his hand blocking, he was a blast to paint. Hell, 95% of the Malifaux range is an absolute joy to paint.
