osoi
Well I have been hacking and slashing of late working on a Rogue Necromancy for McMourning. At the moment only the rough work has been done but everything is in place for me to start sculpting the details (of which there is a fair bit of work to do). Werecat
Ooh, pretty! I had worried about the ratler being too big, but it actually looks ok. The exposed ribs are pretty sweet, and would look way rad with just a bit of ragged skin sculpted over the top. I assume that's what you're planning, but there you go. Koali
very cool! Can´t wait to see it painted...
AvatarForm
Looks unbalanced, however, a good paintscheme can do wonders.
Omenbringer
Looks unbalanced, however, a good paintscheme can do wonders. I agree the model looks a bit unbalanced. The razorspines head (neck and hood) is definately the culprit. I wonder if a warpigs body would have worked a bit better for this (due to the additional bulk). Great idea for the model though. mriverakc
Great conversion I'm sure it will look cool when painted

However, the Rattler's head may still be too large... perhaps if it was for inclusion, it could for an interesting over-reaching tail... similar to a traditional chimera with a snake for a tail. osoi
Cheers on the critical feedback so far, the tail indeed is going to be a balancing point and is now a fair bit longer and a little bulkier as well. I have started putting spikes down the spine as well which is also helping to balance the model

Daniele
I kinda like the giant ratler head. I makes the Mini look a lot more threatening! Great conversion in my opinion (especially like the old GW skeletal horse parts:) ) Edited September 28, 2010 by Daniele
osoi
Update time! Well heres more progress being made on my little beastie so far. Theres still some more sculpting to go but I think its starting to take shape a little more now, my main struggle now is figuring out how to apply some flesh over the horse head. Apologies for the bad photos, the camera wasnt co-operating
Werecat
Cool! That tail does balance things quite nicely. Well done!
Daniele
Jeah but the longer skeletal steed neck and the nice putty works on the back are beautiful too! can't wait to see what your planning next!
osoi
Hes now done and getting ready for paint. I added a few extra details but think he looks a lot better now, the undercoat and wash help tie him all together visually which certainly helps from a painting perspective. Melnibonean
Looking damn fine. Get some paint on that baby!
osoi
Well I have done a little more work on the Rogue Necromancy, the hard bit of painting for me is done(colour blocking), now I get to have fun getting all the areas how I want them. I should be pushing myself a little with the decayed flesh/fur and want to try out some exposed muscle etc where applicable. I am aslo trying out a new 'bone' colour for the skeletal horse and rib cage, so afr with one highlight and shade I am happy where its heading. What colour do I do the teeth and claws? this is something I am not sure about .... ideas? As far as what I am trying to acheive for the skin its a better version of what I have done for one of my Canine Remains
Omenbringer
That Rogue Necromancy sure is coming along nicely.
sephiroa
i realy love the model,, only,, the skeletal head,, i don't like it,, it looks to fragile to thin. and acctually, its not a horse's head but the head of a guild hound on the necromancy or that's what i think it is. but appart from that, your doing a great job
FoeRender
that is super awesome !
G. Footman
nice! I'm going a slightly different route with mine, making the razorspine head more decayed, basing it sort of on one of those pictures of dead decaying sea monsters, secifically this one: http://englishrussia.com/2006/08/28/unknown-creature-was-found-by-soldiers/
