Kaine
amazing i saw the thread where you asked how to get the swampy look in the water effects, so how'd ya do it? In this case i just used an airbrush with a few greens (dark + light) and woodland scenics water effect.

Hookers
there are about 2-3 other threads with his wip i'll edit this when i find them here's the unpainted board http://www.wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12484 here's the materials and building it http://www.wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12191 Edited May 25, 2010 by Hookers
Hookers
In this case i just used an airbrush with a few greens (dark + light) and woodland scenics water effect. so you just painted under the water, and didn't add anything to the water effects themselves? Kaine
so you just painted under the water, and didn't add anything to the water effects themselves? correct, airbrushed green shades directly over the wooden board (that had a grey undercoat just as a base). theHman
Drool Drool Drool! I am coming to your house and robbing you of this board and smuggling it back to the US. Seriously though, simply amazing! I wish I had a table like that to play on. Couple of questions: 1. How much time would you guess you invested in building it? 2. How much time did it take to paint? 3. How much money do you think you invested in it? 4. What is your address?
Kaine
Basic build was about 10 days, 3hrs a day. Painting & texturing was probably 4 days, 2-3 hrs a day The cost is difficult to estimate since the hirst arts moulds are reusable. If you discount the hirst arts moulds costs the breakdown is roughly Base board (chipboard) - £9 Foam (orange) - £18 (1/4 left) Water Effect - £15 (1/2 left) Hercullite II Plaster - £22 (1/4 left) GW Trees - £15 Flock - £8 (alot left) Silfur pieces (the grass effect bits) - £12 Mig pigments (rust) - £

TimeLapse
A few questions for my project im working one, about what are the size in inches of each square section? And what did you use for the square tiles? I really like this idea, might steal it for my own? Also what is the size of an average Mal, game table? Thanks for the help and may i say I love your table, I soo want to play on it!!!!
U.S. Male
Great job! I love it. But now I'm ridiculously envious and deciding if it would be worth getting the hirst art molds and giving a similar project a try. Damn you fir making my spend money that I shouldn't. Thanks for the help and may i say I love your table, I soo want to play on it!!!! The tiles are 300mm x 300mm (about 12 inches) this makes the whole board 3ft x 3ft which is normal malifaux game size. The square tiles are 6mm chipboard + 50mm orange insulating foam (for the raised tiles), then hirst arts plaster blocks on top. We had our first games on the final painted board today and despite alot of people going away with rust covered fingers it went well. I also decided on the next board project
