nerdelemental Posted February 7, 2010 Author Report Share Posted February 7, 2010 low turn out because of the thousand things that kept people away for the day/weekend, but the men in the room were totally cool and we had a good time throughout. I, personally, really dig the format we rolled with. Just game and then game and then game again. No serious down-time, everyone mostly got to play everyone else. Cool. Rob won the day but had a little competition in several games so he didn't just walk away with it, even losing one but still dominating with accumulated VP's. One complaint I have about the format is the fact that whoever plays the most games wins. Given that there isn't a time limit, whoever can finish their games the fastest is going to have the most opportunity to grab more VPs then players that take longer to play. Not that it was a huge issue with this event since there were only 6 of us, but it could be a bigger issue with a larger turnout. I know the idea behind it is strong and some lists do worse with a time limit but not having some kind of balancing factor (ie time limit/game limit) will cause issues. Just some food for thought.
