Jerkle
I play the ortegas and I really want to add a good close combat guy so im leaning towards the executioner but i hate his model(not a big fan of gigantic oversized weapons), anyone have any different models i can use to represent the executioner? Also anyone else you think is good at close combat that i could add to the list? i thought about bishop but he is expensive
Angus Khan
I don't know about any proxies for the executioner... However, have you thought about Johann? He's only 6 SS and is pretty good at melee.
nilus
If you want to stick in faction, why not a couple of witchling stalkers or Death Marshalls. Neither are great melee units but they are better then most Ortegas, and they are cheap.
Tyler Tinsley
i just got my cowboys, i plan on using the giuld guard to cordon off all the charge lanes and prevent melee from happening altogether.
cerealkiller195
i have to agree the family does have some nice melee fighters. failing that i think witchling stalkers would be just as good. With a CB of 6 and immolating demise they can cause a good chunk of damage to enemies.
Wulfen
I've never had a huge amount of success with the Executioner, but maybe you'll have better luck with him. He's such an easy target that usually he's dead by the time he'd get to do anything.

He is very much a model that becomes that I have seen either rule the board or get wiped out without ever doing anything
AoM
Witchling Stalkers are awesome in melee. Don't forget Fransisco and Loco up close, too. Misaki is a reasonable investment, as well.
cerealkiller195
if you are going out of faction, Bishop is quite useful though costly.
Jerkle
Well i played a couple of games and i must say Papa Loco is a BEAST in close combat. i got him to smack a warpig twice with his dynamite sticks one causing severe damage and i put the blast on him and a gremlin, there were no survivors after he blew himself up(he had been wounded by the war pig and was careless). I think ill be adding in some witchling stalkers or guild guard if my group wants to play 35ss and higher games.
cerealkiller195
In my Sonnia suicide list i thought about putting papa loco in there, along with some witchling stalkers you can almost one shot a full health master
nightgaunt98c
Just remember that Papa Loco is kinda unreliable without Perdita.
Kagelong
How about the peacekeeper? It's a little temperamental but a killer in Melee.
cerealkiller195
yeah it's alright i dont expect him to live long anyways! lol. Death marhsals are quit good getting critical strike for both shooting and melee. Though I still side with the Witchlings because they can go through and hunt down anything in terrain. Lupus
Yeah have to say Witchlings really annoy people..If your thinking person rather than generic Samuel is very handy in a fight as well as in a shoot fest
