PaintMinion
Hi guys! Been lurking around here, but wanted to let all of you know that my Iron Painter piece "Quest for Fire", the one with the halfling roasting marshmallows by dragon fire, won a gold medal at the MMSI Chicago Show. It's my first gold, and I'm rather proud, and very grateful to Nathan and all of you for inspiring me to create it. I'll update pics eventually, but all I did was work on the dragon some more since Iron Painter. So...when is the next Iron Painter? Skya says I gotta win two of them to keep up with her. <<<shudder>>>> Pics from Iron Painter - http://wyrd-games.net/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=2731

Nathan Caroland
Congrats Sue! As for the next Iron Painter, you'll probably see it make a reappearance in November though we'll likely take the holidays into consideration with that and have some 'down time' come Turkey Day or Xmas and the like. Still in discussion. Either way, pleased to hear about the gold.
Bexley
Yeah- it occurred to me that with all the new traffic from Malifaux, IP could be many more rounds. Not that that's a bad thing. I think I am more an endurance painter than a sprinter.
Nathan Caroland
I'll schedule some time to talk about it this weekend and tap on Jim and a few others to come up with some ideas. I absolutely LOVE IP - the work that comes out of it is beyond extrordinary in my opinion and I'm always amazed, but at the same time, it can be a serious time eater and the more people there are, the longer it goes. Not sure what we're going to do as of yet, but we might end up have to increase the elimination events (several folks facing off instead of just one on one), but that's still up in the air. Bexley
I know I'm in the minority, but I'm all for longer. Mutual suffering is a bonding experience!
Sculpta the squig
Mmm, long IP, love it 'Grats on the gold Sue, well done In other news, I do belive Jeff Wilhelm won either a silver or bronze with his OSLy IG diorama at GD UK Squig
Peterdita
Congrats Sue!! Nice gold! That one was really cute. IP... Need it, hate it, love it, want it.
Thryth
I'm with Bexley. Longer is fine. However, if there really is a problem with that, I would much rather the number of contestants be limited, instead of resorting to "...increase the elimination events"
Thryth
How rude of me! I'm sorry. Congratulations Sue! Very fine work (as always), and well deserved gold!
Brushmistress
Congratulations Sue! Hope I'll get the chance to see this one in person one day. Maybe Gen Con?
Wren
Congrats Sue! Very well-deserved. I hope more people get to see this live, too, as I very much enjoyed the opportunity to do so!
