St. Anger
Tough little start to the Wings season. Sharks had a tough first game also, losing to Colorado, who we really should beat, but we rebounded nicely against the Ducks...who I HATE It was nice to see the Avs win it for Joe!!! Go Avalanche!!! Gargathor
Well, looks like Dany Heatley hasn't lost his touch in the move south...
EricJ
He seems to have figured out how to work with Thornton, which is nice...but we're definitely seeing that the two of them make for quite a defensive liability as well
Vezinas Ghost
My family is from Michigan so I grew up a Red Wings fan. I live in Ohio, so when Columbus was granted a franchise I bought season tickets for the Blue Jackets in a heartbeat. I was a season ticket holder from 2000 - 2007, but had to let them go due to rising costs, and the increasing size of my family. When I originally bought the tickets I was single, now I am married and have three kids, that does change the priorities a bit. Still follow the Jackets and rest of the League very closely and am thrilled they have opened the season going 5-1 so far!
Vezinas Ghost
HAH guess I should probably also mention that even my user name is hockey driven. I have used it in many different communities going back more than a decade. I obviously took it from Georges Vezina, from which the Vezina Trophy is named. Yea, I really love Hockey
EricJ
I think the Blue Jackets are surprising everyone so far this year, they are certainly playing well! Better than the Sharks, that's for sure! It's great to see that it seems like Hockey is the sport of choice around here
Vezinas Ghost
Wings having some serious goaltending issues, they blew a two-goal lead for the third time in seven games on Saturday night. They have given up more than twice as many goals as the Jackets have so far. Crazy.

EricJ
Seems we can give you one! We're back on the ice again tonight, 2nd game in a back to back on the road in Detroit...talk about a rough schedule...we have Pittsburgh on Saturday too
mriverakc
My union has season ticket to the SJ Sharks Games. They raffle the tickets off for each of the games. Every time my wife and I have one the Sharks have won by scoring 4 goals. The 1st time I took my boys there was a fight within the 1st 5 minutes. The games are always great. However, I really dont follow the sport.

We're back on the ice again tonight, 2nd game in a back to back on the road in Detroit...talk about a rough schedule...we have Pittsburgh on Saturday too We appreciated it as well, and you still managed a point against the Wings tonight, and the Jackets jump from 9th to 3rd in the West. Man the Central is in rough shape all over.
silentbob27
So the Wings need to hold on for a few more months while our big scorers get back from injury. Frak, what is up with all these injuries....
EricJ
Sharks, Pens and Wings are all hurting with several top 6 forwards/4 defensemen out on each time, yet still all seem to be doing pretty well so far. Hey, just think about it as a time early in the season to evaluate young talent
sjostrand
I'm not a big Hockey fan, but it's at least seven reasons to like Red Wings: Nicklas Lidström Henrik Zetterberg Tomas Holmström Niklas Kronwall Andreas Lilja Johan Franzén Jonathan Ericsson
EricJ
Speaking of Hockey (yes, I know, no ones really speaking about hockey other than me right now), how about the upcoming Olympic Hockey. I have a hard time not pushing for Canada since they include 4 Sharks on the team, including an entire forward line. Of course, Russia, Sweden among a few others looking VERY strong also. Even the USA could perhaps string a few wins together, as they're bringing some goalies who can steal games. PS. Go Sharks
Deathjester
Im in the UK but been a massive Pittsburg Penguins fan for years. Used to go to Manchester Storm here in the UK but they have now changed and I have moved. Have to make do supporting the local team Peterborough Phantoms. ESPN has alot to answer for, hours of my life vanished in a frenzy of sport hehe
Wombats
Stop talking about Hockey and write our second Malifaux bookie already. Don't be like George RR Martin and his lemon tarts and football.
EricJ
I get so much Malifaux work done when while listening to hockey on the radio, it relaxes me
sjostrand
Canada will win the final against Russia. And Sweden will beat Finland and get the brons medal. (Belarus, USA, Slovakia and Czech Rep will get beaten in the semi) Now you don't need to watch the olympics.
Calisto
Thrashers fan here. Not a super fan, nut I go to a live game at phillips arena when I can. Hearing Koooovaaalchuuck over and over is will be missed, and I don't see us going much of anywhere without him. Zephir
Im a caps Fan, if the Avatar didn't give that away. Im a huge fan of all DC sports though. I like Hockey less than Football and Basketball, but its hard not to get drawn in when your local team is the best in the NHL (not to mention your football and basketball teams are embarrassments.) and you have the best player in the world on your team, I have like 3 Ovechkin shirts. Funny, that's why I started following the Wings in the early 90's. I think the Olympics will go exactly as sjostrand predicted, but the really important part is that the Olympic "break" will rejuvenate the Red Wings, and they will pull back into dominance just in time for the play-offs.
