JakubT
Hi. I have a question for the more fortunate that got the book already: how many of those bad boys can you field in your crew? do they have any limitations other than points? TheLemondropDan
They are rare 2, so that means that you can field 2 in scraps and 4 in brawls. Although, if you really wanted lots of them on the board, Myranda can turn into one too.
Kloudfire
Myranda is also one of the coolist mini in the line as well... well worth the investment!
Talisinbear
OK new here, how good is the Beastmaster box ? what is difference between scrap ? and brawl ? in terms of minis ?
Werecat
I think the box is fantastic. Honesly, I'd take that box, and add another Cerberus, and that's what I would play as an arcanist force. As for scap and brawl, it's on page 90 if you have the rulebook. The difference is in the soulstone cost. A scrap is anywhere between 1-45 soulstone games, and a brawl is between 30 and 70. With a scrap your control hand size is 6, and brawl is 7. And in brawls you can bring two masters.
Talisinbear
so the beast box is a good stand alone option ?
Sushicaddy
so the beast box is a good stand alone option ? I think so... especially against other box sets. you have two models with healing flip spells, and two great melee specialist beast, PLUS myranda can turn into a melee beast if she wants to. You also have a WP boost/enemy debuff if you are fighting things with terrifying or use WP spells or duels (i'm looking at you, pandora). Talisinbear
what other beasties are coming down the road ?
AoM
well, there are already Silurids, Waldgeists, Hoarcats, Molemen, and the 2 in the Order of the Chimera starter. As for what might come next, only Eric knows for sure.
paperbag4
I used mine for the first time last week. It's incredible how nice stalk is after throwing some ice pillars in the way.
bakaryu
In regards to Roar, do not forget that Myranda can also cast this via Animal Instincts and due to her Ca of 6 she has a much better chance of getting it off (and possibly triggering Smell Fear) than the cerberus has. Also in regards to Myranda, if you are running Marcus she can shapeshift into ANY non unique model in your crew when Marcus casts Feral on them (they count as a Beast until the Start Closing Phase). Currently that doesn't open up too many avenues, but it means you can use her to transform into a Cyborg if you wish.

Actually, the way it is worded it clarifies that you can copy any model that is a BEAST from the book, not what occurs on the table during the game. Fool
Yep, it must normally be a beast for Myranda to shapeshift into it.
bakaryu
Hmmm... Feral Target model receives the Beast characteristic until the Start Closing Phase Shapechange Transform into a non-unique Beast. This model remains transformed until it takes a (0) action or casts Shapechange again. With Beast capitalised in both circumstances, it leads me to believe that this is a legal combination. Nowhere does it say that it must originally be a beast.
AoM
your assumption would be incorrect. Zee has it right. Non-unique is the important term there. A non-unique Beast is one of which there are many of in Malifaux. While you might give the December Acolyte the Beast characteristic, that is merely 1 December Acolyte Beast. see this thread for Eric giving the answer.
