ScottRadom Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 That's some poppin' green! How did you do your fleshtone on this piece? Quote
Peterdita Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Looks pretty sweet to me. The skin looks really nice. To crit, I'd work on the metallics. They look a little flat in spots, maybe its the pics. GWW Bab black/ Dev mud work great for me on that type of stuff. The base looks simple but well done, Nice work. Quote
Silmarilias Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 This is a nice looking figure and base the only thing i don`t really like is the brighter green of the skin colour it looks a bit too neonish but that`s my own taste as i like a darker style colour for orc`s more like the one`s portrayed in L.O.T.R . Overall though well done keep up the good work . Quote
Brushmistress Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Ditto on some of the metallics looking a little flat (particularly his leg armor & the buckles on his chest). I really like the bright green of the flesh - I've always been a fan of Orc & Goblins being painted in those tones. Quote
Chameleon Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 I think that the blending is really excellent on the skin. I'm not personally a fan of the skin tone, but I do like the fact that you've tried something different. For me the hair at the back lets the mini down a little. Black is very hard to do without making it turn grey and people suggest putting a few strong highlights, but I think you've perhaps gone a little over the top regarding the very strong highlights on certain bits. Overall a really great mini though and I look forward to seeing more! Quote
Guest The_Brain Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Hiho, @Scott: The basis is SnotGreen from GW. Highlights: Mix with Bad Moon Yellow. Shadows: Black @all: Thank you for your comments. I´ll try to work on my metallics at the next miniature ( and probably go back to paint colored hair ) Greetings Brain Quote
