Moavoamoatu Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 Hello, I have plenty of time since I am out of IP. So I uploaded photos of my Royal Marines crew in my LOTHS blog : http://lotow-loths.blogspot.com/ I still have to paint my able seamen. These Marines were painted in 1 hour to 1hour1/2 for each miniature so it's tabletop quality and they are ready for their first battle on tomorrow. Quote
demonherald Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 great stuff for the time they took Mo..... great models too must get around to purchasing some more pirates some time... Quote
DeafNala Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 AAAARRRGH! They be proper Sea Dogs, Matey! The buildings look rather Mordheimy, which to my feeble old mind IS OH SO COOL! :captain: Quote
Moavoamoatu Posted May 1, 2009 Author Report Posted May 1, 2009 Right, it's one of my Mordheim buildings as I didn't start my pirates buildings yet. Quote
DeafNala Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 Right, it's one of my Mordheim buildings as I didn't start my pirates buildings yet. I somehow KNEW that you, as someone who aprreciates the FINER things in life, would be into Mordhiem to some degree or other. There's been quite a lively interest in Pirate War Bands, including several Sartosan Campaigns, over at TBMF, AND a fair amount of interest in LotHS. COOL STUFF! :captain: Quote
Moavoamoatu Posted May 2, 2009 Author Report Posted May 2, 2009 Mordheim was and still is my favourite game. I used to play a pirate warband and an undead one.....but I have all the existing miniatures except the posessed warband. I started my very first buildings for Mordheim.....so Mordheim obliged me to make sceneries and buildings..... I think Mordheim rules are better than LOTHS ones but I like LOTHS too. It's always fun to see a crew gaining experience after a battle. Quote
Morf Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 Quality stuff. How the Black Scorpion pirates compare sizewise to Rum&Bone? I'm SO tempted to get their undead pirates. Quote
Moavoamoatu Posted May 2, 2009 Author Report Posted May 2, 2009 I have Black Scorpion, Ron&Bones, Resina Planet, Black Cat and Warmachine pirates. Ron & Bones are taller than Black Scorpion miniatures. Some R&B pirates could fit but they tend to be very tall, so you'd better forget the idea of mixing them. In fact you can mix Ron & Bones with Resina Planet pirates and even some Warmachines pirates. You can mix Black Scorpion pirates with Black Cat Pirates and some small Warmachine pirates. Now you can always cheat with bases....flat ones for tall miniatures and tall bases for smaller miniatures. For skeleton pirates I use Reaper pirates : perfect with Black Scorpion miniatures but Reaper pirates are of different sizes. Forget Foundry, Dixon and other brands which are true 28mm (even 25mm). Morf Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 Thanks! I want to pick up some as guys in my gaming club started playing LotHS. And I finally have some time to paint for leisure! Quote
DeafNala Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 Even though I have YET to play it, Mordheim IS my favorite game JUST based on the terrain building, modeling, & minis; adding Pirates to the mix IS HEAVEN! Nice to find a kindred spirit. :thumb: Quote
