Rhyme Time!

This is a thread to write things that rhyme.

It may come back up from time to time.

Anyone can join and I hope that they do.

Sounds fun to me, what say you?

So if you feel pissed off or maybe even silly,

Add to the thread, it’s not a big deal really.

Doesn’t have to be serious or even true,

Could even write something that starts with “Violets are blue”

Original or quoted, it's all good, because poems are nice,

I bet that I'm in here more than once or twice.

Can you do it? I encourage you to write-try,

I've had a really atrocious week.

My minis have been elusive and bland-

I see that these models aren't looking too sheek,

due to the fact I keep cutting my hand.

Be damned the XActo, as well the pin vise!

Why can't these figures come without flash?

Nice, cool, and verily yes!

But sculpts one who's built like a Champ of the Empress;)

Good strong woman - pose all statuesque

But feeble shoulders, like a big jess....

Two too many mananas and cervezas?

'Nose to the grindstone' 'n' all that puritan BS.

Building details like skirts and pauldrons;

But sculptin' don't count in IP as now is

And I'm just one of the sad, sorry 'also rans....'

So why'm I doing this? Kudos? Build my skills

Show what I can do - prove that I can

Them tough baby-steps in a new profession?

Soon 38, done nothing with my talents

i know it isn't quite related

trust me, this topic i much debated.

all i want is to show what i have written,

behold the tale of the lost and smitten.

inspired by Milton's paradise lost

and the epic tale of Goethe's Faust,

the fictional journey of the deceiver

and his exploits as mankind's weaver.

so my friends, this i want to share

in the name of things in rhyme and fair

a simple poem of a budding play

Fallen From Grace: The Earthen Angel

For what price to pay to regain honor

In the eyes of my Creator, my God?

I am one afflicted with abyssal horror.

Willing, I’ve been, to submit to His law.

Never have I doubted, nor I’ve questioned.

But his last order ransomed the final straw.

I was humble myself and to bow down

To the new walkers of this fertile Earth.

But I’m not one to easily relinquish my crown.

I would not surrender to these beasts of blood.

For I bow down to God, to Him alone.

I care not even if their protests flood.

And for that, I am stripped of my wings,

And my scorned soul is cast down to the land,

My symbol of pow’r and grace, of all things.

But before my untimely banishment,

I made a desperate deal with my God,

Out of my sorrow and my resentment.

I climbed up to the highest mountain top,

And I cried out to the infinite skies.

I refuse to accept how my existence will stop.

“Allfather, I ask you hear my appeal!

This day is far from the bar of undone,

For am I not your disciple of such zeal?

Should I claim the soul of a rightful man,

To prove that these wolves are not worth my time,

Nor my loyalty. I’ll cage them by hand!

O Great Maker I challenge not thy will.

But this deed I just cannot comply with.

I refuse to give these mortals their fill!

I cannot provide what it is I’m asked.

Forgive me, my God, for you, I have failed.

I just cannot perform this task.”

I cried out in utmost agony and despair.

For I know that I truly am outmatched.

But I had faith that my God was just and fair.

“You’ve one chance.” His voice rang like bells

Echoing from the greatest Cathedral’s tower.

“But know that the price of failure is Hell.”

The winds blew over me, caressingly soft.

Atop Earth’s great mount, I stood triumphant.

Deed accepted, my wings once more aloft.

Yesterday was rough and life was getting tough,

But today is much better and things look up.

Family doctors with suggestions and good news,

This will be a good weekend, no more singing the blues.

It feels like Friday and I can’t wait for weekends,

Head’n to airport after work and picking up friends.

Haven’t seen her in over a year,

Roll her a blunt and pass her a beer.

Party time, Excellent, This is my world,

My vision will soon become blurred.

So I better stay away from my IP bomb,

That’ll send Moa home, crying for mom.

95% done but still some finishing touches,

Just a little freehand and glazes with brushes.

Full steam ahead, ha-ha hint hint,

So many washes, feel like I’m seeing a lint tint.

Beautiful day, Blue sky and brisk breeze,

Jamming out, Ipod playing to all of my needs.

Happy now, life is good when it’s greater,

Oh Iron painter, time for round 3!

Who woulda guessed it still includes me?

Super glue, blades, sore finger tips,

Lack of sleep, taste iron, cracked lips.

The field is narrowing, getting much tighter,

My R3 entry is hot and IP future looks brighter.

Hope I don't blow it and actually get to the face,

Oh crap, I forgot I had to do a base!

Ha-ha no I didn't, But its still undone,

Never knew online painting comps were this fun.

Big Moa-Toad tried to eat me but he had a reversal of Pete,

Gimme another chance, tie break had Nameless beat.

So hear I am again, sticky fingers and the like,
