PHOTOGRAPHY. 20) Least Favorite: Paint Brand you've tried Vallejo. Reaper MS is second worst, though I get good results with them if I mix them in with other paints. It's only when I try straight RMS over straight RMS that I have difficulties. 21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them. Hm. I can't think of one in particular, really. I usually do dioramas, and I'll paint anything that fits the diorama. There are a few small companies out there that put out really bad sculpts- so awful looking that I can't believe they sell. I can definitely say I hate GW paints...I used them for a couple years and they definitely did not justify the price tag in my opinion. 3) Favorite: Sculptor Whoever does a lot of the new stuff for Tales of War. 4) Favorite: Painter Oh geez...don't even know. The only place I consistently look is here, and I'd have to say my favorite painter at Wyrd is probably Ritual. 5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyone's) Tales of War has definitely caught my attention. GW. For as big of a company as they are, they have some of the crappiest looking sculpts as a whole. There are worse, but I'd expect WAY more from an industry titan like them. I just don't understand their old mentalities like having to stick a raised sword and staff in each hand of every wizard they produced. They are getting better, but they reek of static. 22) Least Favorite Painter/Painter's Style, or Conversion Style. Umm...don't even know. There are a lot of great painters out there, and there's probably 10 times as many bad painters. Narrowing 1 down from that would be next to impossible. As for style...I'm very over NMM. It looked great, and still does, but I'm so sick of everybody and their dog trying to use that technique as the first basis of quality of a paint job. Besides the miniatures share usually a good mix of details and larger surfaces. 4) Favorite: Painter: Can't decide - flip a coin if you want a single one: Sebastian Archer (Automaton), Thomas David and Jeremie Teboul 5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyones #1) Asmodee's (when they made the Hell Dorado Range) - I loved the miniature quality but another thing I really appreciated - they seemed close the community, answred questions, didn't hold back good or bad news and seemed 'honest'. If theres ever something I'm having trouble with, those are the first places I look. 17) Desire: A sculpt you would love to see, but doesn't yet exist Hrm, how about a 54mm model of some of my WoW characters, the Druid specifically. 18) Ambition: What would you most like to achieve in the painting hobby I'd like to get down the art of NMM. I'd also like to be able to do more than just simple gap filling with green stuff. The pots are terrible, often there will be consistency issues, and sometimes the coverage just isn't what I need. Maybe P3 Thornwood green or Moldy Ochre. Maybe Vallejo Russian Green. Meaning, I prefer non-bright colours most of the time. 2) Favorite: Brand of paint Vallejo Model Color, the bottles are easy to use and the paints cover and give an amazingly smooth surface. I'm slowly making a switch to these from the P3. 3) Favorite: Sculptor None really. I rarely even look at whose sculpted something I like. 4) Favorite: Painter Not many of the painters I've seen really strike the eye with each of their models. Maybe that adso2 guy whose painted much of the Enigma Firstborn line. Whoever he might be by his real name. 5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyones #1) Enigma, Smart Max 6) Painting Preference: Metalics vs. NMM Metallics, NMM just looks too soft and pastel in my eyes most of the time. I've seen some amazing work done with good quality metallic paints. 7) Mini Preference: Fantasy vs. Sci Fi Fantasy most of the time 8) Mini Preference: Male vs. Female I do not really care if the model is male or female as long as it looks good, as in some what realistic. Some how the female models tend to go to the direction of huge boobs in chainmail bikini. 9) Mini Preference: Human vs. Monstrous I'm leaning towards humans usually. Not that I care much as long as the sculpt catches my eye. 10) Favorite: Paint Brush you use the most Currently I use Army Painter Regiment brush for most of my real painting. I've been trying out some different brushes but have not found a real favorite yet. With Vallejo paints being more liquid I like to use brushes made of Kolinsky hair, with P3 I like to use sturdier synthetic brushes. They seem to work better for me. It might just be that I'm bad at diluting paints properly 11) Favorite: Paint Job You've Done (provide link if possible) Probably this WM Berserker. It was supposed to be a practice on rust but turned out to be a generally nice paint job. A lot of mistakes I might fix if I turn my eyes to WM again. And sorry for the shiny picture. 12) Favorite: Paint Job Ever (provide link if possible) I think this Brom, Hard Bark would be my ideal paint job. Everything seems to serve a purpose on that paint job. It almost looks like a painting, instead of a miniature. This Dire Avenger Exarch looks amazing too but it has a little bit too much of the fine details added and that makes the model inferior in my opinion. Something that would not necessarily strike the eye as the best paint job ever at first, but also something that most people really could not find anything to complain about. Subtle shading that would just look good, some fine detail etc. Something along the lines of that Brom. Accidentally pouring a bottle of paint on my pants/shirt. Luckily, that rarely happens with the Vallejo bottles. In fact, I've bought one bottle of the normal Citadel range after those black screw-on caps came out. Those were drying up a lot faster than one could use them, turning into mostly useless gels. At least the old white capped bottles were okay. I still have some left that are just fine. The Foundation paints seem to be okay though. The only bottle I've bought recently from the normal range was bleached bone and those buggers had changed the color to a more greenish gray shade. 21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them. Hasslefree or Impact! miniatures. Pretty much of the models strike the eye as something I'd like to paint.
