EMPIRE GRIFFON STANDARD BEARER

Emp_stdbearer_bg.jpgI.gifn the folktales of the Empire, the Griffon is a stalwart and stubborn beast that refuses to be bested in combat, no matter how outmatched it may be. In honour of this legend, a unit flying the Griffon Standard resolutely stands its ground, and few foes can break them.

You may include a Griffon Standard Bearer in your Empire army as a Heroes choice (serving as a Captain of the Empire who is the army's Battle Standard Bearer).

This blister pack contains enough metal components to assemble one (1) Empire Griffon Standard Bearer miniature. All models are supplied unassembled and unpainted.

On Advanced Order: June 25, 2007: $12.00

EMPIRE WIZARD

Wizard1_bg.jpgWizard2_bg.jpgW.gifizards are strange figures who wield awesome magical powers and are privy to secrets usually beyond the ken of normal folk. Trained at the Colleges of Magic for many years, arcane power courses through their veins and lurks behind their eyes like the thunder before a storm. No sane inhabitant of the Empire willingly courts the attention of a Wizard, for they are unpredictable and (some whisper) tainted by the very magic they wield. The services of a Wizard are much sought after by the Elector Counts, as many of their enemies employ potent shamans or fell sorcerers. Such foes bend the Winds of Magic to evil and destructive ends and only those skilled in the arcane arts may stand against such power.

Battle Wizards hurl bolts of fire and lightning at the foe, confound them with illusions, or steal away their courage. Each of the Lores of Magic has the power to smite the enemies of the Empire, and it is a rare army that marches to war without at least one Battle Wizard. To be a Wizard is to understand the power at the heart of the world, and though each can bend one of the eight Winds of Magic to his will, such power is not wielded lightly. To lose control of such dangerous power would be to damn one’s soul to an eternity of torment at the hands of the Dark Gods themselves…

You may include a Wizard Lord in your Empire army as a Lords choice, and a Battle Wizard as a Heroes choice.

This boxed set contains enough plastic components to assemble two (2) Empire Wizard models. All models are supplied unassembled and unpainted.

On Advanced Order: June 25, 2007: $17.00

DWARF LORD ON OATHSTONE & ARMY STANDARD BEARER

Dw_lord_bg.jpgDw_std_bear_bg.jpgT.gifhe most powerful fighters in a Dwarf army are its Lords and Thanes. Each of them has vast experience combating the enemies of their race, often built up over several centuries. Dwarf leaders are well tutored in the art of war, learning both from the elders of their own clans and the venerable Runesmiths. When the time comes for them to lead, they will have learned more than most commanders ever know and will have been tried and tested on the battlefield many times. This experience and wisdom is reflected in their beards, a clear indication that the other Dwarfs in the throng would do well to follow their example.

When battle is joined, it is the Lords & Thanes — with their finely crafted armour and rune-inscribed axes — who seek out the enemy's most powerful combatants, matching bestial fury or dark magic with courage, honor, and honest steel.

You may include a Dwarf Lord in your Dwarf army as a Lord choice, and a Thane as a Hero choice. One Thane in the army may carry its Army Battle Standard.

This boxed set contains enough metal components to assemble one (1) Dwarf Lord on Oathstone miniature and one (1) Dwarf Army Standard Bearer miniature. All models are supplied unassembled and unpainted.

Advanced Order - Ships June 4, 2007: $20.00

DWARF MINERS

Miners_bg.jpgD.gifwarfs have an insatiable thirst for gold, and construct deep shafts beneath the mountains in their quest for more of it, but it is not the only thing that fuels their interest in mining. Gemstones and ores are also especially valued, many Dwarf crafts being dependent on a regular supply of both.

Dwarfs are ideally suited to be miners, their strength and endurance making them excellent wielders of pick, hammer and shovel. They also have an instinct for the stone, knowing where best to dig and when to pause to shore up a section of tunnel. Collapses and other accidents are rare. The longer established a mine is, the more mechanical contrivances there will be. Steam-powered engines, fixed in position, continually haul chains which tow wagons out of the depths. Some clans may even use a newfangled boring machine that some Engineer has invented. But, however successful these are, they can never replace the skill and experience of a Dwarf Miner.

When a Dwarf hold goes to war, many mining clans will send their warriors to battle. As a gesture of pride in their profession, they will tend to carry picks rather than axes but such is their skill with them that this is no disadvantage. There are many benefits to having such troops in an army, notably they can use their skills to tunnel beneath the enemy and gain the advantage of surprise.

You may add Dwarf Miners to your Dwarf army as a Special choice.
