If I were to generate the suit for a trigger with an action with the built in stat bonus, such as the Nurse Bottle of Painkillers Stat 6(Crow), can I choose to not activate the associated trigger to grant Poison+2 to the target?

Yes, you don't have to declare a trigger ( unless the action tells you you must). If you meet the requirements for more than 1 trigger, you can choose either trigger, or no trigger.

So for the nurse, if you flipped a 4you would have a duel total of 10  and can choose to declare the smashed trigger, or the thise will numb the pain trigger or no trigger.
