Note that you can choose McCabe as the Wastrel to give an upgrade to within 5 with Treasure Hunter to get to Shielded +2 at the end of activation, which is a total of Shielded +3 if you start near a marker.

Okay, but consider this: Tanuki can help stack Poison and lets the Corpse Curator do a (*very* watered down) version of its MCM-trick to go btb with someone and deal unresisted damage at EOT. Is it a *good* synergy? Almost certainly not. Is it a fun/funny one? Absolutely!

I'm agree tanuki can do a decent job giving poison to Corpse Curator and some healing and Focus on the crew.

so if you want to play the burning model, is it still the best bet to buy the original master set too or do the new keyword masters run better outside the original crewe?

As a general rule you will want the keyword models that are in the core box even if you always plan on playing the title version, and I don't know if there is a master that I would always play the title version anyway...

Yeah, I think you'll still want the core box if only for sidir / luna.  I dont tend to bring ruffians too often (as huckster have taken the low cost minion spot for me) but you'll still want the totem + sidir.  I've also been using the core box unhorsed mccabe as my tomb delver as that model never got enough play time to begin with (and without a release date in sight it may be a minute before i get a official titled mccabe).
