Popular Post Kyle
Hey Wyrdos, This week, Waldo threw himself a little party to celebrate. What he was celebrating was a mystery to us all, but we joined in on the fun nonetheless. Things quieted down pretty quickly, though. After he bonked his head on the limbo bar, he was seeing stars. So, while we wrangle up his constellation prize, let’s take a look at another upcoming Master title. This time, we’re staring at the sky above with Von Schtook, Stargazer! It’s amazing how just a new perspective can shake things up. Thanks to Anna Lovelace livening up the University of Transmortis’ curriculum, Professor Albus Von Schtook has had the opportunity to crawl out from the Cistern Seven and enjoy one of his favorite hobbies: astronomy. But when he stared unto the stars for the first time in years, what he saw was not the same starscape that he had grown so familiar. Something was very, very wrong… Oh, how exciting! Rather than leaning on summoning as his previous version did, his Stargazer title brings him to new heights. Just as he looked out into the open night sky, Von Schtook is expanding his horizons with more versatility for himself and his crew to combat just about any situation, regardless of whether it comes from the battlefield or from the stars above. We could go into detail and tell you everything this starstruck professor is capable of, but why don’t we take a look at his stat card to get a better view instead? Lastly, many of you have wondered if these new Master titles will be receiving new sculpts. Of course! Do you think we’d miss out on a chance to put a headless zombie-turned-telescope into a miniature? To quote the professor himself: “Top marks, top marks!” Are you a registered student at the University of Transmortis? Will you be following Professor Von Schtook to the surface to study the stars? Let us know! 17
Pallas4
The world needed a refractor zombie. Wyrd created it. 😁
MajorUndead
Oh I love that model so much! The title seems quite interesting. Shade of delios could help allow students of sinew control anyone, students of steel to heal living allies as wel, etc Lessons learned could be pretty nice as well. The protect me trigger could be fun. Have a bodyguard, could be used by Anna to blow it up with her bonus action. I'm not sure how powerful astronomical insignificance could be, especially since it's "until the START phase" If the ennemy has a scheme that names one of his models, you can use that to negate the scheme for the last turn point, right? Deathinabox
He looks willowy at first, but between hard to wound, head in the clouds, lessons learned, and protect me, he's got some staying power

dancater
Just wow, the new alternate masters are blowing me away, one after the other. And I haven't even seen any for the faction I play. Riding the hype train.
Da Git
I hope this Von Schtook doesn't get lost while star gazing. His assistant looks like he'll give him a bad... heading! I'll see myself out

Yes. "What was that, you named Model A for Claim Jump? How about no."

Paddywhack
Not a big VonSchtook fan in general and not sure these rules will make me one, but man that is one creepy cool model! I'll get it just to put together if nothing else. Really great job and can't wait to see more stuff!
dancater
One of the things I'm noticing is that the re-worked Masters seem, so far, pretty complicated and non-linear in how they work, in the value they provide their crews. All of the new cards so far are going to be pretty intense to maximise the master, rewarding folks that put in the time and creating games where crazy off-vector threats and scoring opportunities are the norm. I absolutely love it. 🤩 I love the web puzzle of Malifaux, balancing the war in the game with the winning of the game, oft times not directly linked. I love the fine balance of getting the cogs of a crews engine working, carefully ordering and balancing activations as each cog spins at least one other, all while your opponent throws grit into your machine with their own Rube-Goldberg creation. These new masters are adding that in spades so far. Every faction has a couple of simpler masters, the introduction low floor entry crews (which can be still maximised for scary results) but for me the biggest intrigue and rewards in the game are from these less linear more puzzle power crew leaders. So yeah, the more I see of the direction that the design is taking the more I'm hoping that this direction continues and that we see some marvellously weird Arcanist masters that I can look at for an hour and still not encompass some use implication that could blow up a game. Zombified Kiwi
I did not see this one coming. I see most of the new masters losing their summons, so I'm wondering if there will be new masters that gain summons?

There's also 2 more titles and a minion shown off, Anya and Toni gain summons (a single summon, but summon nonetheless)
