Derzhus Posted July 24, 2021 Report Share Posted July 24, 2021 So, out of curiosity and boredom I put up a survey on what Masters people take under what conditions. I was lucky enough to get 72 responders and I will be posting the result of that survey here. Fair warning there is a lot of data so this will probably take multiple posts to cover everything. Where possible I will try and post the results directly from Google Forms, but where necessary I will be summarizing the data. Scope: This survey is only a reflection of a small sample of respondents from A Wyrd Place and the Wyrd Discord. This is not intended be a representation of either a particular meta or the universe of Malifaux players. While the questions were phrased with "to a tournament" in the questions, this was only meant to encourage the respondent to consider their choices from a competitive stand point instead of a more casual or "fluff" perspective, it is not meant to be a true reflection on actual tournament statistics. General Survey Questions As you can see Ressers and Outcasts are owned by a majority of respondents and Bayou are the least popular faction. Outside of those three extremes, every other faction seems to be roughly comparable in popularity. Since all of the data isn't visible for this chart: Outcasts - 25%, Resser and Arcanist - 20.8%, Neverborn - 8.3%, Ten Thunders and Explorer's Society - 6.9%, Bayou and Guild - 5.6% Explorer's Society and Guild are the most popular back-up Factions at 29.4%. Neverborn and Bayou are next at 11.8%, and finally Ten Thunders, Ressers, and Outcasts are least popular at 5.9%. It is also important to note that only 23.6% of respondents had a backup Faction at all. Only 3 respondents had a third faction (Outcasts, Bayou, and Arcanist respectively) and one mad lad answered for all eight factions (Bayou>Resser>Arcanist>Neverborn>Guild>Outcasts>Ten Thunders>Explorer's Society for those that are curious). From here are the Faction specific questions. Each faction was asked the same questions about which Master they would chose from their selected faction of the Masters owned. Since this is a general thread I am going to summarize the leaders of each faction for the first section of questions about what masters a player would take into each other faction when that is the only information known. Four sample games were provided in the order below, unfortunately Google Forms didn't copy over the image with the question so I will provide the images here for reference with that data.
