Yore Huckleberry
So the inimitable Craig Shipman had guests on for the Reva episode back in January, and it just released. Among their hot takes later on was the notion that Dashel Barker is something of a generalist, but other Guild masters are, essentially, specialists ("niche masters") that work into specific pools. Their conclusion was that playing Guild well requires learning 3-4 masters well, where maybe in other factions you can, say, have a main and an alternate. How does that sound to people? What niches would you apply?

I'm not sure dash is my take for that. I'd like Hoff.

Legislat
Nellie. Basse has very distinct weakness against some crews. Tara, Jack, Dreamer are all very hard to play against for example.

Angelshard
For me Basse is someone I would take into every strat and most pools. There are schemes he struggles with, but it's rare I see a pool where his scheme choices would be telegraphed. I would also take him against every faction, if I didn't know the meta and what people tend to play. There's most certainly masters that are a horrible match up for him, but they aren't the typical top pick of the faction. With the possible exception of dreamer, where I still don't have a feel of how much people play him after the new errata. So when I don't choose him it's because the strat, pool and faction choice indicates a master he wouldn't like to see. Even then I feel he can take a lot of tech picks, compared to other guild masters, to give him a better chance. Disclaimer: I don't play nellie and my Dashel crew is still mostly unpainted and haven't seen the table since GG0. I also haven't played Basse before GG2. HowNot2Wargame
Sonnia (when I was playing) Guild for me was the drop into most pools before I went for a 'one master per strategy' approach. Its mainly the speed and reach witch hunters can bring which just helps sssssoooooo much. And this is before we get her more controlly version in the starter set. Also didn't have Spell eaters either. Recognize Basse fulfills the same role, but I found previously once they are set, its hard to re-position. I haven't played with Sand worm and Rough Riders, but have played against it and they do help a lot. Hence I would have to really play with the updated Basse/Frontier to see if they compliment or substitute Sonnia and others.

belorey
Nellie and Hoffman are probably my top crew's for most games. Basse is a good choice but only if i see a table with enought concealing/severe terrain and good blocking fer their cover.

4thstringer
Lol so going back to the original question from @Yore Huckleberry, I guess the answer is probably no, considering how many differing answers we got about which one it would be. Or just a couple of us a right, and everyone else is wrong, which feels also possible. 1
