Waldo's Weekly - Here Comes the Rooster

Hey Wyrdos,

This week, Waldo let us know that he was counting all his chickens before they hatched. Before we realized he wasn’t using an idiom, our office was filled with eggs, hay, and chicken feed.

So, while Waldo turns the office into one big chicken coop, let’s take a look at another playable character in the beat ‘em up racing game, Bayou Bash: the Rooster!

In Bayou Bash, every round is an unpredictable dash to the finish line, and the Rooster embraces that chaos with every space he moves.

You see, at the start of every round, players will be drawing Jockey Cards (with the player in last place drawing first) to determine which dice, barrels, coins, and Stagger tokens they’ll be utilizing when it’s their turn to go.

Other racers might try to avoid Stagger tokens because they might send them off the track or into some terrain, but the Rooster only cares about one thing: going fast. Thanks to Without Feather Ado, Stagger tokens help him do just that. Being tossed off the side of the track is merely an afterthought for this featherless fowl.

In Malifaux, the Rooster (aptly named Ruffles) is just as fast with a Move of 7. Pair that with any of his Abilities and you’ve got yourself one bird you’ll want to stay away from if you’re on the opposing side. If you end up too close, his Actions and Triggers will Push you enough times to make you pull out your own feathers.

Both Bayou Bash the board game and the Bayou Malifaux Starter Box will be coming out this summer!
