GG2/Errata and the MWS

Hello All,

Posting an update here so everyone knows what the plan is for the MWS FAQ. There's a lot of our rulings that are now addressed directly by official FAW/Errata. In every instance, Wyrd's ruling is always going to supersede anything we ruled for the series.

Over the next few days, we will be updating the series FAQ to removing anything that contradicts the official errata or is made redundant. Please be patient as it'll take us some time to do this.

If you do have any questions, or need further clarification on anything, feel free to comment in this thread and we'll get to it as soon as we can.

My understanding of why singles was the main format for the VWC was as follows:

Kirai could be hired without her totem, then summon both it and other models while ignoring the upgrade restriction on Ikiryo
Dreamer cost too little for his ability to summon in additional models
Opponent could hire in additional masters and you wouldn't know to hire models for them, leading to more matches that felt like they were lost at crew selection
Summoners in general were too able to mitigate the model count opportunity cost of hiring them, with their summons providing increased scoring ability

Since all of these issues have been addressed by the recently released errata and gg2 documents, can we expect to see more upcoming tournaments without the singles alternative rules?

We'll definitely give this consideration. As you said, a lot of the big issues have been resolved.

Folks should drop a react or a comment so the MWS team can gauge the community interest one way or another.

I'm pretty keen to see more double masters action!

Not sure I'll play double masters now that all the OP combos are taken away, but I see no reason to prevent the official game format now that it looks quite balanced.

I think the rules changes are really good to balance double masters... Maybe you could introduce it in a "special" month to see how it goes first?

The MWS event FAQ is updated to reflect the GG2 changes and errata. Mostly this removed redundant or overruled rulings. Here's the link to the document.
